- 2. • The mastheads on both magazines are large and extremely bold at the top of the page. On the vibe magazine the main image is hiding a section of the masthead, this is ok as the magazine is well known and will be recognised from the style and the type font the masthead is. Where as in my magazine the main image isn’t covering as much of the masthead as the audience wont be familiar with my magazine. The colour of the masthead is a bold red and I have added effects to it such as a shadow. I have a blue strip behind it to make it stand out more. • The headline in both magazines are larger that the rest of the text. This is so that the feature stands out and the person is drawn to it first. They are both on the left hand side of the page. They are both lager and bolder than the rest of the kickers. •I have a menu strip at the bottom of my page showing what else is inside my magazine. •The main images on the magazines are pictures of well known celebrities, they are what the audience want to know about and will attract them to the magazine the most. In the vibe magazine the image is placed in a central position where as in my magazine the image is placed to the right of the cover. I think that with my magazine having a different lay out it will stand out more to the audience. •I have tried to follow the same conventions that other R&B magazine have and used a colour scheme. I have gone with black and red theme. The words that I wanted to stand out are in orange. In the vibe magazine the main colours are pink and black. •The kickers are all listed one underneath each other in my magazine on the left hand side of the page. And in the vibe magazine they are on either side of the picture. This shows that my magazine is different and will stand out form the rest on the stand.
- 3. •My contents page is different to the typical style of vibe contents page. Because vibe is so well known it can have a simple contents page. My magazine will have been new on the market and will have to have a lot more in the contents page so that the readers will know what rhythm has to offer. •I have also got extra features into the contents such as a fashion section and a features section which contains reviews and interviews. •I have also added an editorial section to my magazine which is not very common with other music magazines. However I feel like it will make the readers feel more in touch with the editor. It also gives the editors perspective of the issue. •I have decided to use the same colour scheme as my front cover to match the contents page. This is so there is continuity through out my magazine. Where as the vibe contents page is quite plain. •Vibe contents generally has one large image on the page. On my contents I have decided to have several separate images to show the audience more that rhythm has to offer.
- 4. • the name of the magazine is at the top of the page which make it easier for the reader to know what magazine its from especially if they’re reading it offline. • my magazine again follows the same colour scheme on the double page spread as the front cover and the contents page. With the black and red running through it. • I have also added a sidebar to my double page spread this was to fill up most of the white space which can be unattractive if there is too much of. In the sidebar there is more information on the artist which I have called artist profile. And there is also a section on new albums that are currently in the charts. • I also have quotations on my magazine in a larger text this is so it will draw the readers into the article .
