The advantages of media technologies;
There are many advantages of the use of modern technologies.
Firstly, the fact that most of them allow a fast and efficient way
of being able to plan/research and also to create products is a
positive. This is because no one likes to be taking ages about
making something when it can be done at a much faster
pace, therefore leaving time for the actual making and
evaluation of the products which is essential to the whole
package. Another advantage is that things can be changed
quite quickly on the technologies if ever a mistake was made
and/or needed to be changed for whatever reason. This is for
example on Photoshop, if a line was drawn by mistake when
creating a digipack, then there is an “undo” button in which
erases whatever you last did. This is very good as it takes no
time at all to remove and this saves time also when working to
a tight schedule.
The disadvantages of media technologies;
There are many disadvantages of media technologies. Firstly as the
ones in which I have used are all fairly modern creation, this means
they are liable to breaking down easily/crashing. This means that at any
time of creating something on Final cut or Photoshop for example, if I
haven't saved the work then this could mean it all could be lost as the
computer could shut the programmes down due to them not
functioning properly. Furthermore, another disadvantage is that as they
are fairly modern as stated above, this meant I wasn't that up-to-date
with the skills required to work the programmes efficiently. This was
because before the A level stage I wasn't that sure how to use any of
them that well, but as I more or less had to use them in order to be able
to do all of my coursework, this enabled me to have to work out how to
use it all properly. I also had to seek help from other who knew how to
work them in which told me the best way to go about doing certain
things on the programmes.
Did they prove challenging?

In many ways yes they did as I wasn't 100% how to work the
   technologies and this took quite a bit of time till I was familiar
   with the programmes and knew how to use them fluently.
   This therefore took time off of the research, planning and
   production stages as I was working out how to use them all
   correctly.
What they allowed me to achieve;

Personally they allowed me to gain a lot more skills in the media
   department on how to use certain programmes for whatever
   reason I may need to use them in the future. Also gained myself a
   lot of patience and determination. This is because without these
   two things you wont succeed as you have no direction or plan to
   work out what is going to happen next and what/where you
   wanting to go.
   I have developed considerably from last year for AS level as I know a
   lot more about the technologies in its self, and have more
   confidence in what I can do and what can be done on these
   machines.
