- 1. Evaluation 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Technology What does it do? How was it used? Problems? Solutions? lessonslearnt? Camera- Nikon D5300 Usedfor filmingthe openingof our thriller. InsertedSDCard and pressed record.We stabilisedthe cameraon a tripodfor whenwe wantedshots to be steady,andusedthe camera handheldforwhenwe wantedto create an eerie atmosphere. The batterydied because we didn’thave a charger onhand whenfilming. We borrowed someone else’s charger to ensure thatwe couldcontinue filminginthe same definition, insteadof risking usinganother camera andthe qualitynotbeing as good. Make sure that youare equippedforthe day andthat you have a battery charger or at leasta spare batterythat is fullychargedon hand. Tripod Usedfor stabilisingthe camera whenneeded. We mountedthe cameraon the tripodand adjustedthe heightand angle accordingto the type of shot we required.The spiritlevel built intothe tripodensuredthatthe shotwasn’tuneven. Gettingthe right positionof the tripodas at certainangles, shadowsof/the tripodcouldbe seenasthere was a lack of room incertain placeswe were filming. Beingpatientin orderto get the desiredshotand be positive that it wasup to standard. We learnthow to use the tripod to itsfull potential allowingusto getcertain, steadyshots despite having to utilise the tripodina small space. SD Card Storesthe footage of the filmsoit can be transferredontoacomputer for editing. SD Card was insertedintothe camera to store footage of our thrillerfilm. We didn’thave any problems withthe SD Card. N/A I believethe reasonwe didn’t have any issues withthe SD Card isbecause it initiallystarted out as blank, whichallowed us to filmabout 8GB of footage. IPhone Usedto take photos. We tookstillsandadda blackand white effecttocreate a guidelinefor the storyboardduringthe planning of ourthrilleropening. Ran out of storage. Useda different phone withthe same quality camera. Make sure you have enough storage available on yourphone before taking photographsto preventhassle. Blogger Online blog. Usedto documentthe researchand planningstagesof creatingour thrilleropening. Bloggerwould sometimesclose down unexpectedly and delete work whichwould have to be redone asit doesn’thave an auto-save function. Re-dothe work and save as you go alongto preventlosing workagain. Alwayssave the workand be sure that you have a strong internet connectionto prevent disconnection and losingany possible work.

Final CutPro would sometimesshut down unexpectedly whichcould cause work to become lost despite itsauto- save feature. There wasno solutiontothis. If we lostany workwe had to redoit as there was noway to retrieve it. Learnt howto have patience withthe software whenit didn’t cooperate. Powerpoint Microsoftoffice powerpoint was usedto presentpartof our research ina differentformtoa word documenttoshowthat I am capable of usingdifferentformsof media. N/A N/A N/A
