In what ways does your media produce,
    develop or challenge forms and
  conventions of real media products?
Masthead: My masthead runs the same traits to the NME
and the Q logo, with the bright reds and shadowy black out
line, only mine differs with the white bold letters standing
out on what JLM means. Also, like nearly all magazines, my
main picture hides some of the letters.

Puff: My puff stands out along the top right hand corner, the
words should hopefully interest and intrigue my audience
because of the repetitive use of the word “new”. Like all of
the music magazines, my puff is a bright colour in a circular
form, just like again NME, Q and Kerrang.

Cover lines: Using the code and conventions, I have used one
name which are quite popular in the music world so my
audience could escape or socialise among others about the
information they are about to learn.

My Anchorage Text in the middle don’t follow the colour scheme of the blocks and
different colours because they are suppose to be one of the main attractions, many music
magazines use this technique as it draws the audience as it may be the first thing they
notice. By using the word “introducing” informs my audience that it something new,
another way of getting them hooked, as everyone's likes something new. The anchorage
text also backs up my main image as it informs them on who the person is.
Masthead: I included my masthead again in the contents
page as it is another feature that other previous music
magazines do, like NME, Q and Kerrang. It also works with
the words Contents which reminds me off the same
magazines I mentioned before.

Editors Note: One of the codes and conventions that my
contents page has is an editors note- letter which welcomes
my reader as it asks them for help. I added an image because
it can interest the reader which can lead them to the note.
Not many magazines have this feature, but is a well-known
thing on new magazines.

Side column: I took this idea from the magazine NME, but
made it bigger and under different categories on which my
magazine will follow. The colours still follow the original
sequence to my front page, along with the boxes and black
writing.
Images: Again like all magazines, you need images to intrigue the audience, the boxes beside
them match with the side column, so the reader will know where to look. I made sure that it
was both genders so my magazine doesn’t look like just a girls music magazine.

Subscribe: This box on the bottom left corner, has been known to be featured in magazines,
it has the contact details so they will be able to get a discount on the next time the purchase.
Many double pages are different within each other, mine uses some conventions of a NME
magazine when Florence of the machine featured sitting on giant white and red present...
The words “Amelia...” are similar to what was used in that article. With the soft grey and not
black makes my article seem elegant and sophisticated.

                                                                    The way I edited the
                                                                    picture just by bringing
my main girl at the front
                                                                    when the background is
                                                                    faded right behind her,
                                                                    hasn’t really been known
                                                                    to do, but like my
                                                                    magazine, it adds to the
                                                                    new feel.

The images in the line at the bottom of the article has been known to happen before, I got
the idea from the Kerrang magazine when it featured an article with Gerrard Way from the
band My Chemical Romance, it featured mini framed pictures, so I copied the idea from
that and using the code and conventions, it should work.
