Evaluation question number 3 *
- 1. How did we attract address our audience? (Media evaluation question 5)
- 2. Who is our audience? Firstly before I start of talking about how I believe we attracted/addressed our Target audience (TA) I am going to talk about what I think the Target audience for Me and Kingley Dare’s opening sequence was. To start off I believe our main target audience our males ages 16-26 who are interested in the dystopia film category, also interested in quite action packed and intense films. I also believe there are a few secondary audience’s for our ‘Shortage’ opening sequence. One of the secondary audience are females ages 16-24, even though it is mainly aimed at men a lot of females are also interested in these genres. The other secondary audience is people ages 24 to around 40, the older population are normally more interested in calmer less violent films but some are still interested in the genre of ‘Shortage’

Main character We chose to have are main character as a 16 year old boy as this age and sex was included in are TA, we thought having a character from the TA would help to attract to attract the viewers. Having a main character around the same age can really help you connect to the film, also it can help you connect to the character. Another reason we chose our actor is that he can be a role model to all viewers, someone they can look up to and be inspired by. They are not going to want to inspire to be someone that is not important to them for example, a 16 year old boy is less likely to watch a film about an old woman as they have nothing in common.
- 4. News Report The news report was done so that when people were viewing are opening sequence they would not be confused and we believed it would help them to understand what was going on. This news report helped to attract our Target audience by bringing them into the story, The new report gives the viewing a few hints on what the film/opening sequence is going to be about.
- 5. Day and night One of the things we did in are opening sequence to attract the Target Audience, was flicker the scene's in and out from day and night ( before and after the food shortage) This was to help make are opening sequence (OS) really intense , and bring are viewer into the video and try and work out what is going on. This will straight away bring are TA into the opening sequence.
