This document summarizes the ways in which a student's media product about a children's jazz magazine uses, develops, or challenges conventions of real media products. The student researched conventions of both jazz magazines and children's magazines, combining elements from each. This included using instruments on the front cover from jazz magazines and bold colors, interesting layouts, and wacky fonts from children's magazines. Feedback from the intended audience confirmed that the bright colors, fonts, and pictures would attract the target age group.
