- 1. HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOU MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS? BY EMMA DUNN
- 2. INSPIRATION In order to be able to show what I wanted I looked for posters that were a little on the dark side and had very little or close to no colour to them because I was trying to reflect my trailer through the poster. All the posters that I was looking at were dark and this is what I liked about them. When looking at the Horns poster the same sort of look is on my poster where the eyes are the same colour as the title. I didn’t initially copy the horns poster but this is what I have in a way based it off of but I wanted to show the trailer through someone else's eyes hence why they change. All the posters that I have chosen are either close ups of the face or are a side profile and this is what I like because on some posters you will have the whole body and I this didn’t appeal to me.

POSTER • When I was creating my poster I was looking at some of the images of James Dean posters where they were set in black and white. • I liked the way that you could only see parts of face for the James Dean poster and this is what made part of my poster for “Change”. This was what influenced me to use it on my final poster design. This means that I was able to edit the eyes because part of face was already covered and I had space to edit some. I edited the eyes for a reason and it was because the idea of being able to see through someone else's eyes made me like the idea of changing the eye colour, mainly for this. I said that if I changed the eye colour then I would also change the colour of the writing for the poster. I don't want to do this idea anymore because the green works a lot better than the other colours that I tried.
- 4. INSPIRATION • When I first started to make my Magazine Cover I went through some phases of using Empire and Total Film. I liked the style and the layout of the work and so I used them. I liked the way that the writing will fit a majority of the page and you would have free reign of put in some text and that is what I hoped to have shown. The images of my own magazine cover are in order of how I edited and changed them. This shows how much I changed, as well as what I liked and what I disliked. • I decided that these wouldn’t be any good for my poster in the end because mine is a simple documentary and these companies deal with some of the popular based films. • In the end I looked at a magazine company called variety, who use simple images of the actors and they are all in black and white which is what I like about them, so I decided to use them for my final piece.
- 5. MAGAZINE COVER • My poster all went through a phase of being changed because I was either not happy with the cover image or the layout of the work and so I decided to change all of it. I noticed that none of the work actually focused on my trailer or the genre of my trailer and so I changed it again and this poster is what I am more comfortable with. Its basic and that’s what I like about it and its colour scheme works well and being in black and white is something I like it to be in. the result of the final product is what I like a lot but with the other posters that I made I like the layout of the Empire writing yet with this Variety one its writing layout is simpler.
- 6. “CHANGE” TRAILER • When looking at my poster and the magazine cover I think that they both represent my trailer in their own way. The poster because of the way that you can see through their eyes and the magazine cover with the way that it is simple and yet its effective at the same time. If I was needing to watch this I would because this is something that interests me, you get to know about other people and their life stories from when they were younger as well as their point of view on some things. • If I were to alter my ancillary texts I would have like to have included more people. In documentaries you get a lot of people and how they see the situation depending on the topic.
