This document provides an agenda for an English writing class (EWRT 1A). It includes assignments for Essay #4, which was due, and introduces Essay #5, which will involve writing and presenting a speech proposing a solution to a community problem. The class will review Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and Monroe's Motivated Sequence as models. Students are instructed to organize their speeches following Monroe's five-step structure and to submit an outline of their essay converted to a speech for next class. They will present their speeches to the class to advocate for their proposed solutions.
