NOTE
Install the ExamView Assessment Suite program before installing the
Learning Series. Without ExamView, users are unable to create assessments
or worksheets of any kind with the Learning Series questions.
The Learning Series questions are created using the leading classroom assessment tool,
ExamView Assessment Suite. The Learning Series is designed to work seamlessly with
Turning Technologies educational tools to provide flexibility in delivering assessments and
to enhance the student classroom experience. Capabilities include:
 Create a standards’-aligned paper test using ExamView and grade it automatically
with plain-paper scanning (Windows only).
 Generate worksheets and homework assignments for student practice using
ExamView.
 Administer local area network (LAN) tests using the ExamView Test Player to
automatically grade tests.
 Access ExamView from within Insight 360™ to launch tests, quizzes and worksheets.
Insight 360 is the first completely mobile system that integrates content with
formative assessment. Educators use Mobi 360 or Teacher App to manage desktop,
open content (various formats and sources on the desktop/browser), launch
assessments, annotate content, see real-time visuals and receive reports from
anywhere in the room. Student response systems, including handheld clickers for
responding, are used to engage with lessons, answer questions and receive instant
feedback.
 Conduct in-class review sessions, give quizzes and conduct tests with student
response systems. Clickers work seamlessly with ExamView, delivering real-time
formative assessment and providing instant student-performance feedback so
teachers are alerted to students that require additional attention at the moment of
instruction.
 Access ExamView from within WorkSpace, the award-winning software used to
create and assemble the interactive lesson content controlled with the Mobi View™,
Mobi™ and DualBoard™. Workspace’s open design allows instructors to incorporate
and work with teaching materials in multiple formats from any source, including
publishers’ ExamView content, web-based content and third-party curricula.

The Learning Series questions are optimized for use with ExamView. Questions take full
advantage of ExamViewfeatures, providing maximum flexibility when building customized
tests. Tests built in ExamView can be used with student response systems without any
additional modifications. Open tests in student response software and immediately begin
testing.
Learning Series questions are high quality and do not require additional review for content
accuracy, age/grade appropriateness, grammatical accuracy or clarity. Questions are
intended to assess students’ ability to apply knowledge to solve practical problems. Even
incorrect choices for multiple-choice questions have been developed to mirror common
student mistakes. In addition, specific feedback and guidance are provided to help students
avoid making mistakes in the future.
The Learning Series emphasizes critical thinking with questions that promote students'
ability to correctly analyze situations and apply knowledge. Most questions are presented in
real-life contexts that incorporate cross-curricular subjects and contain accurate and timely
data. Also, the questions contain illustrations, tables, graphs, charts, maps and other
visuals that provide both necessary and supplemental information for students to analyze
and interpret. In addition to supplying high-quality questions, the Learning Series also
takes advantage of many ExamView features, providing maximum flexibility to tailor
assessments for a variety of situations.
The Learning Series contains a variety of question types similar to those typically found on
state and national high-stakes tests:
 Multiple choice
 Numeric response with response grids (gridded response)
 Completion
 Short answer (short response)
 Essay (extended response)
For added flexibility, most multiple choice questions are "bimodal." (See Figure 1.) Display
bimodal questions as either multiple choice or short answer. When added to a test,
bimodal questions display as multiple choice by default. A single mouse click will toggle all
of the multiple choice questions on a test to short answer, increasing the difficulty level by
requiring students to show work or explain answers.
6

by TurningTechnologies.com
Figure 1. Bimodal Question
The Toggle Bimodal button in the
toolbar toggles between Multiple
Choice and Short Answer.
The red dot next to a question
indicates that the question is Bimodal.
Each Learning Series question includes comprehensive question support information:
 Difficulty field contains the Bloom’s Taxonomy level and the Webb’s Depth-of-
Knowledge level to which the question is written.
 Reference field contains the context in which the question is presented, such as The
Arts, Social Studies, Science, Health/Physical Education, Literature, Mathematics or
Language Arts.
NOTE
Social Studies questions do not include Reference information.
 State Standard and Learning Objective fields (for standards’-aligned products) display
the state standard ID, the national Common Core State Standards ID or the Next
Generation Science Standards ID number and corresponding standard text to which
the question aligns.
NOTE
For states to which the Learning Series is not aligned, the State Standard field
is empty. The Learning Objective field is populated with an objective to which
the question aligns.
7
eInstruction.com
by TurningTechnologies.com
 Topic field contains the category in which the question falls, such as the subject strand
or course.
 Keywords field contains significant words or key concepts associated with the
question.
ExamView allows for search of each of the question information fields, enabling
customization of assessments. Search for questions that match specific criteria, such as
standards or keywords. Utilizing the search can quickly build pretests, worksheets, quizzes,
exams and high-stakes practice tests that focus on selected content.
The Learning Series offers immediate instructional guidance to students when used for
independent computer-based practice or as feedback available via ExamView reports. All
multiple choice and bimodal questions include rationale (explanations, definitions, step-by-
step examples or calculations) to help students understand the concept being addressed.
Use rationale as a reteaching tool when students receive a copy of the Assignment Review
report along with the scored quiz or practice test. The Assignment Review report is one of
many valuable reports available in ExamView Test Manager. (See Figure 2.)
In addition, the answer choices for all multiple choice and bimodal questions contain links
to specific feedback responses−positive feedback if the student selects the correct answer
choice or a brief explanation or helpful hint if the student selects an incorrect answer
choice.

The Learning Series includes dynamic questions in math, science and social studies.
Dynamic questions are programmed with algorithms that enable the questions to be
instantly recalculated to form entirely new questions that assess the same concept. Each
time a dynamic question is recalculated, the program displays different values for certain
variables. (See Figure 3.) Variables may include numbers, units of measure, tabular data,
graphs, text strings or answer choices.
Figure 3. Dynamic Questions
The Calculate Values button in
the toolbar allows for changing
the values for the selected
dynamic question, a set of
questions type or the entire
test.
The calculator icon next to a
question indicates that the
question is dynamic.
There are several applications for dynamic questions. To supplement in-class instruction,
display several variations of a single dynamic question to provide additional practice on a
particular concept or academic standard. Print multiple versions of a test that assess the
same material but with different values, making it difficult for students to copy from each
other’s papers. Dynamic questions also make it easy to build a virtually limitless number of
unique worksheets from a single set of questions within seconds.
The Learning Series provides interesting reading passages and related reading
comprehension questions. Age-appropriate, cross-curricular reading selections embrace a
wide variety of reading genres, including short stories, excerpts, poems and original, fact-
based passages. Passages are similar in length and complexity to those typically found on
many states' high-stakes tests with questions designed to assess higher-order thinking
skills.
9

by TurningTechnologies.com
Upon installation of the Learning Series reading questions, reading passages are also
installed. The reading passages are stored as PDF files. Use a PDF reader to view and print
the PDF files. Download Adobe Reader at no cost from www.adobe.com.
In addition to independent grade-level passages, grades four and above include passage
pairs. Passage pairs are single PDF files that contain two passages that address a common
topic. All passage pairs in the Learning Series include informational (non-fiction) passages
only.
The most efficient way to view and/or print one or more reading passages is to refer to the
All Gr x Reading Passages PDF files (where x is a grade level). Follow the below steps to
access the files:
1. Navigate to the Learning Series folder.
2. Select the desired PDF file (such as All Gr 4 Reading Passages shown in Figure 4).
3. On the View menu, open Navigation Panels | Bookmarks and select the desired
reading passage.
Figure 4. All Grade Four Reading Passages PDF
ExamView includes a variety of test layout and delivery options, which provide flexibility to
customize, administer and score assessments in a combination of ways.
When Learning Series questions are selected for the assessment, ExamView automatically
builds the test. After questions are selected, ExamView allows for customization of the test
appearance. Popular options are presented below.
10

by TurningTechnologies.com
Depending on how students will complete the test, space for answers can be turned on or
off. For example, if students are able to write answers on the test next to each question,
proper space can be allotted. If students will be using a bubble sheet or a separate piece of
paper, only questions and answer choices can be displayed. Choose Layout from the Test
menu. Click the Answers tab and set the corresponding options in the Answer Space area.
NOTE
Some answer space options are disabled when tests are set to display in
two-column format.
Choose to group questions by question type (e.g., multiple choice, true/false, etc.) or mix the
question types. If grouping questions by question type, an instruction line describing how
to answer questions of this type appears on the test.
Often state tests do not group questions by question type. Mix question types to create a
test that more closely resembles a state test. Choose Layout from the Test menu. Click the
Question Types tab and select Allow question types to be mixed. Reorder the questions to
mix the question types (see the Reorder Questions section).
Displays tests in one- or two-column format to fit testing needs. Choose Layout from the Test
menu. Click the Page tab and select Two Columns. Choose to include vertical and horizontal
lines on the test.
Reorder questions from the Question menu by dragging and dropping the questions in a
new order. If the test is set to group questions by question type, the questions must remain
grouped by question type when reordering. For example a single true/false question
cannot be moved to a position after the multiple-choice questions. Instead, the entire
group of true/false questions must be moved. If the test is set to allow for mixed question
types, click Sort in the Reorder Questions dialog box to sort questions by question criteria.
11
eInstruction.com
by TurningTechnologies.com
To change the font of the entire test, choose Replace Font from the Edit menu. Select the
fonts and sizes and click the Replace All button. ExamView will instantly update the
questions in the test with the newly selected font choices.
NOTE
When using the Replace Font option to replace a font, it is best to replace one
font (e.g., Times New Roman) with another (e.g., Arial). Do not choose to
replace all fonts with another font. This could cause unintended results such
as replacing symbols or other special characters (e.g., Symbol).
To alter a multiple choice test for a student with special needs, choose Adjust
Choices/Columns from the Question menu. Instantly reduce the number of choices in all of
the multiple choice questions.
Several state and national test styles are built into ExamView. Instantly format a test by
choosing a style from the Style Gallery. For example, to format a test to look like the PSAT,
choose Style Gallery from the Test menu. Select the PSAT option and click OK.
Customize the test to meet specific needs with the Layout and Style commands. Choose
Layout from the Test menu and set the layout options. Then click the Style icon and choose
fonts and styles. Figure 5 shows an example of a test customized with two-column
formatting and a vertical line dividing the two columns.

A variety of test delivery options and seamless integration among Turning Technologies’
products help keep students engaged and grade assessments quickly. Options include:
 Print one or many versions of the test.
 Score paper tests with the student response system, providing instant student-
performance feedback and automatic scoring from within ExamView Test Manager
and Insight 360™.
 Print a bubble form and use ExamView’s plain-paper scanning feature to grade the
test automatically (Windows only).
 Publish the test to a local area network (LAN) for students to take with the
ExamView Test Player.
 Export the test as an HTML document posted on a website.
 Export the test for use with a learning management system (ANGEL, Blackboard,
WebCT, etc.).
 Publish the test directly to ANGEL or WebCT.
 In Insight 360, access Test Player to run a self-paced Answer Key test. In a self-paced
test, students use the student response system to answer test questions at their
own pace. To access Test Player, click Start a Self- Paced Test on the Home tab or
click Test Player on the My Tests tab.
 In Insight 360, ask ExamView Learning Series questions during instruction. Use the
Mobi 360 to navigate to and select a Learning Series file and to display, Start and
Stop an ExamView question.
NOTE
The entire Learning Series file will open. Navigate to the desired question. If
the question contains dynamic content, click the Calculate Values button to
present a unique iteration of the same question. If the Learning Series file
contains questions that are not supported by the student response system
(such as Essay), use the material as background to ask a Verbal question
instead.

ExamView includes several features to help deliver paper tests to students. In the Print Test
window, indicate the number of different test versions to print (up to 26 variations) and set
scramble options. (See Figure 6.) If test contains dynamic questions, choose to have
ExamView recalculate values for all the dynamic questions on the test. Finally, elect to print
an answer strip for quick manual grading of objective questions, or print a version map (a
correlation chart to show how the test was scrambled).
Figure 6. Print Test Options
Using ExamView Test Manager, easily administer assessments and score with student
response systems. Implementing student response systems to score tests engages
students with technology and provides instant, real-time results.
Similar to scanning results, student response systems automatically grade most objective
questions (e.g., multiple choice, yes/no, and true/false). If a test includes both objective and
open-ended questions, score the objective questions with the student response systems
first, and then manually grade and record the points for open-ended questions later.
After creating an assignment in ExamView Test Manager, hand out the paper test and
clickers. Start one of two student response session options to push student results directly
into ExamView Test Manager:
 Student Managed: Students work in a self-paced mode. At any given time, students
may be responding to different questions on the assessment. Depending on the
hardware system, the session will either open with a student feedback grid that
must be projected or an instructor feedback window that shows transmitted results
in real-time.
14
eInstruction.com
by TurningTechnologies.com
 Teacher-Led Student Managed: The instructor controls the pace of the assessment
and leads the class through each question. Student feedback grid must be projected
for the session.
Also, elect to print a bubble sheet that corresponds to the test (Windows only). Use bubble
sheets with the plain-paper scanning feature in ExamView Test Manager to grade tests and
record the results automatically (Windows only).
If a local area network is accessible, LAN tests allow students to complete tests on the
computers at school. ExamView automatically grades the test and compiles the results.
LAN tests are a valuable option as an assessment tool. However, LAN tests are equally
valuable for independent study and extra practice during class time or in study labs. Set up
LAN tests to allow students to check the correctness of responses and allow students to
view the useful feedback information in order to learn from mistakes. (See Figure 7.)
Figure 7. LAN Test with Student Feedback
After the test is created, publish the test to the ExamView Test Player on LAN and follow the
instructions that appear on the screen. Save the test to a location on the local area network
that students can access. Students take LAN tests with the ExamView Test Player software.
After students have taken the test, use ExamView Test Manager to view multiple reports to
monitor student progress, such as the Performance Summary report based on learning
objectives shown in Figure 8. The same report can also be created based on state standard,
national standard or local standard.
15
eInstruction.com
by TurningTechnologies.com
Figure 8. Performance Summary Report
ExamView enables exporting of tests to HTML, which can then be uploaded to a website.
Choose to create a self-grading study guide or a test that will send student results to an e-
mail address. After exporting the test, copy the files to the website so that students can
access the test. With the website address (URL) for the test, students can take the test
anytime from anywhere an internet connection is available.
NOTE
The terms of the Learning Series license agreement allow the test to be used
only by students in your building, district or campus.
ExamView Test Manager enables reports based on student assignment results data.
Reports may include graphs and charts, student scores, standards and other data. Generate
individual student reports and class reports for a single assignment, a group of
assignments or all assignments. Print a report or save a report in PDF format.
 Student Reports: Assignment Results, Assignment Review, Student Progress
Report, Learning Focus and Performance Summary.
 Class Reports: Assignment Results, Assignment Summary, Open-Ended Responses
Worksheet, Item Analysis Summary, Learning Focus, Performance Summary, Class
Performance Progress Chart and Class Roster.

  • 5. 5 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com The Learning Series questions are optimized for use with ExamView. Questions take full advantage of ExamViewfeatures, providing maximum flexibility when building customized tests. Tests built in ExamView can be used with student response systems without any additional modifications. Open tests in student response software and immediately begin testing. Learning Series questions are high quality and do not require additional review for content accuracy, age/grade appropriateness, grammatical accuracy or clarity. Questions are intended to assess students’ ability to apply knowledge to solve practical problems. Even incorrect choices for multiple-choice questions have been developed to mirror common student mistakes. In addition, specific feedback and guidance are provided to help students avoid making mistakes in the future. The Learning Series emphasizes critical thinking with questions that promote students' ability to correctly analyze situations and apply knowledge. Most questions are presented in real-life contexts that incorporate cross-curricular subjects and contain accurate and timely data. Also, the questions contain illustrations, tables, graphs, charts, maps and other visuals that provide both necessary and supplemental information for students to analyze and interpret. In addition to supplying high-quality questions, the Learning Series also takes advantage of many ExamView features, providing maximum flexibility to tailor assessments for a variety of situations. The Learning Series contains a variety of question types similar to those typically found on state and national high-stakes tests:  Multiple choice  Numeric response with response grids (gridded response)  Completion  Short answer (short response)  Essay (extended response) For added flexibility, most multiple choice questions are "bimodal." (See Figure 1.) Display bimodal questions as either multiple choice or short answer. When added to a test, bimodal questions display as multiple choice by default. A single mouse click will toggle all of the multiple choice questions on a test to short answer, increasing the difficulty level by requiring students to show work or explain answers.
  • 6. 6 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com Figure 1. Bimodal Question The Toggle Bimodal button in the toolbar toggles between Multiple Choice and Short Answer. The red dot next to a question indicates that the question is Bimodal. Each Learning Series question includes comprehensive question support information:  Difficulty field contains the Bloom’s Taxonomy level and the Webb’s Depth-of- Knowledge level to which the question is written.  Reference field contains the context in which the question is presented, such as The Arts, Social Studies, Science, Health/Physical Education, Literature, Mathematics or Language Arts. NOTE Social Studies questions do not include Reference information.  State Standard and Learning Objective fields (for standards’-aligned products) display the state standard ID, the national Common Core State Standards ID or the Next Generation Science Standards ID number and corresponding standard text to which the question aligns. NOTE For states to which the Learning Series is not aligned, the State Standard field is empty. The Learning Objective field is populated with an objective to which the question aligns.
  • 7. 7 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com  Topic field contains the category in which the question falls, such as the subject strand or course.  Keywords field contains significant words or key concepts associated with the question. ExamView allows for search of each of the question information fields, enabling customization of assessments. Search for questions that match specific criteria, such as standards or keywords. Utilizing the search can quickly build pretests, worksheets, quizzes, exams and high-stakes practice tests that focus on selected content. The Learning Series offers immediate instructional guidance to students when used for independent computer-based practice or as feedback available via ExamView reports. All multiple choice and bimodal questions include rationale (explanations, definitions, step-by- step examples or calculations) to help students understand the concept being addressed. Use rationale as a reteaching tool when students receive a copy of the Assignment Review report along with the scored quiz or practice test. The Assignment Review report is one of many valuable reports available in ExamView Test Manager. (See Figure 2.) In addition, the answer choices for all multiple choice and bimodal questions contain links to specific feedback responses−positive feedback if the student selects the correct answer choice or a brief explanation or helpful hint if the student selects an incorrect answer choice. Figure 2. Assignment Review Report The rationale explains the concept addressed in the question and/or how the correct answer is determined. Correct Answer Student’s Response
  • 8. 8 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com The Learning Series includes dynamic questions in math, science and social studies. Dynamic questions are programmed with algorithms that enable the questions to be instantly recalculated to form entirely new questions that assess the same concept. Each time a dynamic question is recalculated, the program displays different values for certain variables. (See Figure 3.) Variables may include numbers, units of measure, tabular data, graphs, text strings or answer choices. Figure 3. Dynamic Questions The Calculate Values button in the toolbar allows for changing the values for the selected dynamic question, a set of questions type or the entire test. The calculator icon next to a question indicates that the question is dynamic. There are several applications for dynamic questions. To supplement in-class instruction, display several variations of a single dynamic question to provide additional practice on a particular concept or academic standard. Print multiple versions of a test that assess the same material but with different values, making it difficult for students to copy from each other’s papers. Dynamic questions also make it easy to build a virtually limitless number of unique worksheets from a single set of questions within seconds. The Learning Series provides interesting reading passages and related reading comprehension questions. Age-appropriate, cross-curricular reading selections embrace a wide variety of reading genres, including short stories, excerpts, poems and original, fact- based passages. Passages are similar in length and complexity to those typically found on many states' high-stakes tests with questions designed to assess higher-order thinking skills.
  • 9. 9 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com Upon installation of the Learning Series reading questions, reading passages are also installed. The reading passages are stored as PDF files. Use a PDF reader to view and print the PDF files. Download Adobe Reader at no cost from www.adobe.com. In addition to independent grade-level passages, grades four and above include passage pairs. Passage pairs are single PDF files that contain two passages that address a common topic. All passage pairs in the Learning Series include informational (non-fiction) passages only. The most efficient way to view and/or print one or more reading passages is to refer to the All Gr x Reading Passages PDF files (where x is a grade level). Follow the below steps to access the files: 1. Navigate to the Learning Series folder. 2. Select the desired PDF file (such as All Gr 4 Reading Passages shown in Figure 4). 3. On the View menu, open Navigation Panels | Bookmarks and select the desired reading passage. Figure 4. All Grade Four Reading Passages PDF ExamView includes a variety of test layout and delivery options, which provide flexibility to customize, administer and score assessments in a combination of ways. When Learning Series questions are selected for the assessment, ExamView automatically builds the test. After questions are selected, ExamView allows for customization of the test appearance. Popular options are presented below.
  • 10. 10 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com Depending on how students will complete the test, space for answers can be turned on or off. For example, if students are able to write answers on the test next to each question, proper space can be allotted. If students will be using a bubble sheet or a separate piece of paper, only questions and answer choices can be displayed. Choose Layout from the Test menu. Click the Answers tab and set the corresponding options in the Answer Space area. NOTE Some answer space options are disabled when tests are set to display in two-column format. Choose to group questions by question type (e.g., multiple choice, true/false, etc.) or mix the question types. If grouping questions by question type, an instruction line describing how to answer questions of this type appears on the test. Often state tests do not group questions by question type. Mix question types to create a test that more closely resembles a state test. Choose Layout from the Test menu. Click the Question Types tab and select Allow question types to be mixed. Reorder the questions to mix the question types (see the Reorder Questions section). Displays tests in one- or two-column format to fit testing needs. Choose Layout from the Test menu. Click the Page tab and select Two Columns. Choose to include vertical and horizontal lines on the test. Reorder questions from the Question menu by dragging and dropping the questions in a new order. If the test is set to group questions by question type, the questions must remain grouped by question type when reordering. For example a single true/false question cannot be moved to a position after the multiple-choice questions. Instead, the entire group of true/false questions must be moved. If the test is set to allow for mixed question types, click Sort in the Reorder Questions dialog box to sort questions by question criteria.
  • 11. 11 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com To change the font of the entire test, choose Replace Font from the Edit menu. Select the fonts and sizes and click the Replace All button. ExamView will instantly update the questions in the test with the newly selected font choices. NOTE When using the Replace Font option to replace a font, it is best to replace one font (e.g., Times New Roman) with another (e.g., Arial). Do not choose to replace all fonts with another font. This could cause unintended results such as replacing symbols or other special characters (e.g., Symbol). To alter a multiple choice test for a student with special needs, choose Adjust Choices/Columns from the Question menu. Instantly reduce the number of choices in all of the multiple choice questions. Several state and national test styles are built into ExamView. Instantly format a test by choosing a style from the Style Gallery. For example, to format a test to look like the PSAT, choose Style Gallery from the Test menu. Select the PSAT option and click OK. Customize the test to meet specific needs with the Layout and Style commands. Choose Layout from the Test menu and set the layout options. Then click the Style icon and choose fonts and styles. Figure 5 shows an example of a test customized with two-column formatting and a vertical line dividing the two columns. Figure 5. Customized Test Layout and Style

  • 13. 13 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com ExamView includes several features to help deliver paper tests to students. In the Print Test window, indicate the number of different test versions to print (up to 26 variations) and set scramble options. (See Figure 6.) If test contains dynamic questions, choose to have ExamView recalculate values for all the dynamic questions on the test. Finally, elect to print an answer strip for quick manual grading of objective questions, or print a version map (a correlation chart to show how the test was scrambled). Figure 6. Print Test Options Using ExamView Test Manager, easily administer assessments and score with student response systems. Implementing student response systems to score tests engages students with technology and provides instant, real-time results. Similar to scanning results, student response systems automatically grade most objective questions (e.g., multiple choice, yes/no, and true/false). If a test includes both objective and open-ended questions, score the objective questions with the student response systems first, and then manually grade and record the points for open-ended questions later. After creating an assignment in ExamView Test Manager, hand out the paper test and clickers. Start one of two student response session options to push student results directly into ExamView Test Manager:  Student Managed: Students work in a self-paced mode. At any given time, students may be responding to different questions on the assessment. Depending on the hardware system, the session will either open with a student feedback grid that must be projected or an instructor feedback window that shows transmitted results in real-time.
  • 14. 14 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com  Teacher-Led Student Managed: The instructor controls the pace of the assessment and leads the class through each question. Student feedback grid must be projected for the session. Also, elect to print a bubble sheet that corresponds to the test (Windows only). Use bubble sheets with the plain-paper scanning feature in ExamView Test Manager to grade tests and record the results automatically (Windows only). If a local area network is accessible, LAN tests allow students to complete tests on the computers at school. ExamView automatically grades the test and compiles the results. LAN tests are a valuable option as an assessment tool. However, LAN tests are equally valuable for independent study and extra practice during class time or in study labs. Set up LAN tests to allow students to check the correctness of responses and allow students to view the useful feedback information in order to learn from mistakes. (See Figure 7.) Figure 7. LAN Test with Student Feedback After the test is created, publish the test to the ExamView Test Player on LAN and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Save the test to a location on the local area network that students can access. Students take LAN tests with the ExamView Test Player software. After students have taken the test, use ExamView Test Manager to view multiple reports to monitor student progress, such as the Performance Summary report based on learning objectives shown in Figure 8. The same report can also be created based on state standard, national standard or local standard.
  • 15. 15 eInstruction.com by TurningTechnologies.com Figure 8. Performance Summary Report ExamView enables exporting of tests to HTML, which can then be uploaded to a website.
