Expert Resources
Since 1887, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls has been a success-based innovator in youth
care. As part of providing solutions for kids in crisis, we unite a host of
expert resources.

Clinical Experience in Residential Programs
From the moment they walk through the front door, youth who enter Mercy Home
have access to the expertise of Master’s-level social workers and diagnosticians who
work full time in our Admissions program. In addition, each one of our 14 homes has
a licensed therapist on staff to provide counseling.

Professional Care Network
A call to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls can save a child’s life. In addition to providing
a port in the storm for 132 young people in our residential programs, we connect
hundreds more every year to social service providers throughout the greater Chicago
metropolitan area.

In our continuous professional outreach and interaction with other agencies, we
maintain an extensive referral network of social service organizations. The referral
network is an online directory that has been created and maintained to assist the
social service community. Please visit mercyhome.org/referrals.

Leading the Conversation
Throughout the year, Mercy Home organizes professional development seminars for
area youth care providers. The sessions are led by prominent experts in the social
service field. These forums help us lead a public conversation on issues affecting
today’s young people. They also allow us to exchange information with our social
service colleagues so that more young people in the Chicagoland area receive the
best care and support possible.
