This project report describes a face recognition attendance system that uses image processing techniques for automated student attendance. The key components of the proposed system are student registration, face detection, face recognition, and an attendance management system. The system aims to overcome the limitations of manual attendance systems such as time consumption, errors, and security issues like impersonation. It proposes to use a webcam to capture student faces, detect the faces, recognize the students, and automatically mark their attendance in the database. This automated attendance system using biometrics could help make the attendance process more efficient and secure compared to traditional methods.
