Participants emphasized the importance of consistent policy implementation, as clear guidelines and procedures help ensure that students feel safe, valued, and protected within their learning spaces. Establishing clear behavioral expectations and enforcing them fairly was highlighted as crucial for reducing disruptions and fostering respect among students and staff. Additionally, there was a strong consensus that safety isn't just physical but also psychological, with the need to create inclusive environments where students can express themselves without fear of discrimination or harassment. The conversation also stressed the role of ongoing staff training, so educators can effectively manage diverse student needs, mitigate conflicts, and recognize early signs of distress.
