● Companies have high expectations toward workers in Japan.
● It is normative for a worker in Japan to extend hours to fulfill job
responsibilities.
Political Science
● The Japanese government allows foreign workers.
● However, the government does not allow the foreign workers’ families to
come with them to Japan.
Demography
● Japan’s birth and death rates are low, which means that there are more
old than young people.
● This makes it difficult to hire workers for business, and so the Japanese
have to hire foreign workers.
