- 2. Synopsis: A teenage boy who turned 18 has wasted his money on gambling. Not being able to pay his debtors. He has to find other means to pay them back. He gets involved with a local gang.
- 3. Option 1 The main character being chased by the people who he owes money to. Gets caught, a gun is pointed towards his head and the movie begins. Option 2 It starts with a shot of a Chinese restaurant with people eating and we see the main character gambling. He loses and the mafia ask for their money and he begins to panic Option 3 It Starts with him in a car thinking about how he joined the mafia. There are flash backs of him shooting people, gambling and dealing narcotics. Option 4 The main character is in a police station after being arrested by an undercover police officer and is in station being pressured to tell the detective who he works for. Option 5 The main character is being briefed about his next smuggling of narcotics to the next city and the mafia boss takes a certain interest in him.
- 4. Option 6 Film starts with lead character tied up on a chair. He is being slapped and mocked by the gang members. With each slap there is a flash back to his past experiences. Option 7 The Lead Character is sitting in the middle of night shivering. With each breath he hallucinates people calling him. He falls asleep and is woken up by a kick. Option 8 The main character is caught by a shop owner as he attempts to rob the shop. He then narrates his life story to him.
- 5. Option 1 - The filming style is the traditional crime action film genre. Hand-held camera follows the chased character running through the neighborhood. Pros • Only two characters needed. • No acting skill. • Handheld camera used. • Multiple location can be chosen. • No specific permission for film needed. • No specific weather condition required. Cons • Crowds may hinder quality film. • People passing bye may look at the camera lens. • To achieve crime action a gun is needed.
- 6. Option 2 -Wide shot of people eating and laughing in the restaurant after work . It pans to a table where few Chinese men are playing cards and the camera dollys in on the main character as he loses constantly bet to men on the table. Pros • Displays rich culture of China. • Tension can be built easily in this sequence. • Weather can’t affect filming as it is indoors. • Lack of passerby reaction. Cons • Finding a resturant to film in. Also permission is needed. • Actors needed to be good as alot of dialoque would involved. • Buying food to make the opening sequence realistic as possible.
- 7. It begins with close up of the main character eye and then a close up of his frustrated face when he drives and then the flash backs begins. Pros • Appropriate for the genre of the film. • Interesting way to start the movie. Cons • Difficult to film without pull truck. • Not cost effective • Special permission for the local authorities need.
- 8. The main character is seen in the detective office in hand cuffs. The detective walks in the office with his file and ask him who he works for. Pros • Accurate for the genre of the film. • Props are easily obtainable • Filmed in one location. • Limited characters needed. Cons • To achieve realism a police station needs to be filmed in. • Permission to film in a police station.
- 9. The mafia boss is talking to him about who he is dealing with and where he has to deliver the drugs. Pros • Only two characters needed. • Filmed indoors • Filmed in only one location. Cons • Experienced actors needed • A delicate office needed.
