This document discusses using blogging to engage students' writing. It provides examples of how blogging has been implemented in a classroom. Students are given their own blogs on which to publish creative writing pieces and reflections. They can also leave comments on each other's blogs to provide feedback and continue discussions. The teacher monitors the blogs and provides assessment based on criteria such as specificity, thoughtfulness, grammar, and structure of comments. Blogging is analyzed through the SAMR model, showing how it allows substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition of traditional writing activities.
