- 3. Step 1: Getting Started First Sketch Place the image at an interesting angle or considering the horizon. Start off with soft lines. Pencil is not necessarily the one to use.

- 5. Step 2: 1st layer of color Tips Start with a light color. Guide the darker tones with the thin, thick, and thin lines. Color in the image with circular motions.

- 7. Step 3: 1st water application Tips Add water a drop at a time. Keep a paper towel and q tip handy Remember that effect water will have on the intensity
- 8. Step 4: 2st layer of color Tips Make sure you are painting at an angle away from your hand and arm to avoid smudges. Choose brushes that adjust to the space you want to cover with water. Use soft regular strokes.
- 9. Shadows Tips Always consider the light source. Use darker tones for shadows but not always black.
- 10. Step 5: 2 water application nd Tips Put the project aside. Come back to your work with a critical view. Be ready to apply pencil color one more time if necessary Darken any line to make your object pop.
- 11. Step 6: final details You can check your work by taking pictures of it, placing it in front of a mirror, looking at it outside and by observing it at different angles. Keep in mind that you might want to finish with a final water application, or outlining fine details with very sharp pencils. A good idea can also be using a permanent fine tip marker.
