Final Project Rubric
Directions: For the final project in this unit, you will be using your advertisement outline to create a promotional
campaign item. This item can either be: a brochure, a poster, or a video advertisement. Your goal is to create an
advertisement using the rhetorical techniques thus far. Your argument can be silly, if you can back it up well using
the Toulmin model.
Things To Include:
Pick a specific product: This can be anything from a Duracell battery to Coca-Cola to the White House. Pick
something that you can create an argument as to why you should buy, visit, vote etc. a specific place, item or person.
An argument: Your argument doesn’t have to be stated explicitly but you should be able to identify the elements
with the Toulmin model of argument analysis.
Rhetorical techniques: Use what you have learned! Include at least one rhetorical technique we learned about in
this unit. If you need help thinking of examples use the handout from week one.
A specific medium: Choose between creating a brochure, poster,or a video.
