- 12. FIRST AID • First aid kit should be close by. • It is also sensible to have a – bucket of sand – plenty of water – fire blanket – bottle of sterile saline to irrigate eyes
- 13. Minor burns • Hold the affected area under running water till burning sensation comes down. • Do not apply ointments and creams which are not prescribed by a doctor. • Cover injured area with clean, dry cloth or bandage. • Seek immediate medical attention if area larger than size of palm, burns extending beyond skin, face, eyes or hands involved.

If clothing is on fire • Remember these four key things: stop, drop, wrap and roll. • Stop the casualty panicking or running – any movement or breeze will fan the flames. • Drop the casualty to the ground and wrap them in a blanket, coat or rug. • Roll the casualty along the ground until the flames have been smothered.

Avoid giving aspirin to try to reduce the pain. They thin the blood and might increase bleeding. 7. Do not apply ointment or any medication. 8. Do not let your child play with fireworks without close supervision. 9. Wear glasses while playing crackers
