The Five Behaviors program helped improve teamwork among nurses at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant. The nurses did not trust each other and some were considering quitting. The program focused on developing trust, managing conflict, commitment, accountability and results. It helped the nurses get to know each other better as people. When a fire broke out, the nurses worked excellently as a team to evacuate residents safely. The Five Behaviors program was credited with the successful response by improving teamwork and coordination. The program transformed the nursing team by turning weaknesses into strengths.
