Condensation is the change of water vapor into liquid water and occurs when warm air cools and loses its ability to hold water vapor. There are several forms of condensation, including dew, which forms on cold surfaces at night; frost, which forms tiny ice crystals below freezing; fog or mist, which are tiny droplets suspended in the air in low visibility; and clouds, which form around dust particles in the atmosphere and can be classified by form and height into cirrus, stratus, cumulus, and nimbus clouds.
