Bologna and Emilia Romagna
Bologna is not a “Learning city” as Unesco definition state for but..
By the way Bologna is a “Learner”City!
Learning Cities: a new challenge
Learner city today means facing the challenges that the urban dimension face us.
Urban intelligence is an indispensable prospect in view of achieving the goals of the 2030 UN
Agenda.
In Learner cities and territories, information and communication technologies are declined into
innovative platforms and services that improve quality of life, levels of employment and
competitiveness.
In an sentence: digital transformation
Urban and cities Digital Transformations
There are multiple dimensions on which the "digital transformation" of urban realities takes place and
made possible by digital infrastructures:
The creation of intelligent networks for functional services (energy, water cycle, waste, mobility)
The construction of monitoring systems for environmental contexts (safety, air quality, traffic)
The growth of social interactions (work, consumption, access to services, participation, social relations).
In a word:
A strategy for European and
Mediterranean Country
The Emilia Romagna Region is working to create a hub
where machines, infrastructures and skills are able to
manage huge amounts of data, which will be made
available for the development not only of Emilia-Romagna,
but of the whole of Europe and in particular of the
Mediterranean area.

Highlights:Clust-ER ASSOCIATIONS
Clust-ER Associations are communities of public and private bodies (research centres, businesses, training bodies) that share ideas, skills,
tools, and resources to support the competitiveness of the most important production systems in Emilia-Romagna. It is a competitiveness that
no longer relies on the ability of individual research centres or businesses to operate on the global market, but increasingly on the ability
of the entire local system to be innovative and attractive.
The9 Clust-ERAssociationsare:
• accredited laboratories
• innovation centers
