1. IBM proposes moving towards an Open Cloud Architecture centered around OpenStack. This architecture aims to provide flexibility, interoperability, and portability across delivery models from IaaS to PaaS to SaaS. 2. OpenStack has seen exponential growth as a global open source project for building private and public clouds. It is now at the center of IBM's cloud strategy and is being enhanced by IBM with enterprise features. 3. An emerging Open Cloud Architecture consists of software defined environments from infrastructure to platform to API economy layers. It leverages open standards like TOSCA, OSLC, and OpenStack to compose and manage applications and infrastructure as portable cloud services.
