FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
BBA 3RD YEAR
ASSIST.PROF.VANI JAIN
Production management is the process of managing production inputs (raw
materials, capital, and labor) to produce outputs (finished products). For
companies that manufacture products, production management is necessary to
ensure the operations and logistics (supply chain) run smoothl
It is also called "Production Function." Production management is slowly being replaced
by operations management. The main objective of production management is to produce
goods and services of the right quality, right quantity, at the right time and at minimum
cost. It also tries to improve the efficiency.
The Production Management System (PMS) allows users to control all aspects of batch
production processing in a centralized and decentralized environment.
Production management refers to the process of managing the activities of a
business to furnish desired outputs of products and services. It involves planning,
executing, and directing operations to convert raw materials into finished goods
and services.
Production management jobs, titles, and salaries vary and have different responsibilities.
A production manager manages the production process and ensures the company's
manufacturing goals are met (outputs) by successfully overseeing inputs such as time,
staffing, efficiency, materials, and costs.
Production management focuses on one important goal- to meet client satisfaction.
It is done through delivering quality products and services within a business firm.
Here, the raw materials are transformed into finished goods that can be utilized by
the business to meet the requirements of its customers.
Production management aims to monitor and improve the efficiency of activities,
materials, staff resources, and budgets to produce goods. Production outcomes vary
according to the industry. A production manager ensures that manufacturing stays on
schedule, within budget, and achieves the desired output goals.
A product manager is the person who identifies the customer need and the larger business
objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulates what success looks like for a
product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality.
Knowing how your skills, talents, values, and interests translate into possible jobs or
careers. Matching your skills, etc. to existing jobs or careers. Matching your career
goals to your financial needs. Matching your career goals to your educational needs.
Career planning is a process in which people analyze their personal strengths,
weaknesses, skills, interests, and more to determine which job opportunities would be a
great fit. They then set goals to pursue those opportunities.
Career planning is traditionally understood as the process of assessing personal strengths,
values and aspirations, establishing goals and objectives; identifying the steps needed to
achieve them; and putting this information into a written career plan, which will then be
periodically reviewed and updated.
To map out careers of various categories of employees suitable to their ability, and
their willingness to be 'trained and developed for higher positions.
The main objective of designing a career development system is to foster better
communication within the organization as a whole.

important part of the business or corporate 'planning.

The Career Management Model consists of five steps: Assessment: Clarify and
understand your interests, skills, values, and personality. Research: Explore career or
job opportunities that interest you. Make decisions and set goals: Evaluate the pros
and cons of feasible options and create goals and timelines.
This model views career development as a lifelong process that involves five stages:
growth, exploration, establishment, maintenance, and disengagement. Each stage has its
own tasks, challenges, and transitions, and people may revisit or modify their stages
depending on their personal and environmental factor
A career model is a common platform for career development and talent
management comprising three components: 1. Career Stage Profiles (CSPs) define
career paths and key stages along a career path, performance expectations for each
stage, and what it takes to get to the next stage.
