The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) is Bangladesh's highest authority that approves development projects and policies. ECNEC was established in 1982 and is chaired by the Prime Minister. It considers and approves public sector projects over 25 crore taka, private sector projects over 15 crore taka, and reviews economic performance and policies. ECNEC meetings are held as needed in Dhaka and are supported by officials from the Finance, Planning, and other relevant ministries.
