Community health nursing aims to promote and preserve the health of populations through integrating curative, preventive, and health promotion services. It is a synthesis of nursing and public health practice. The objectives of community health nursing include providing prenatal and postnatal care, immunizations, child care, health education, and strengthening community resources to deal with health problems. A community health nurse acts as a planner, provider of nursing care, community organizer, coordinator of services, health educator, health monitor, role model, change agent, and researcher to carry out these objectives.
