Dear Sirs, Madams,
We have known Professor GamalS.Ahmed for one year, since he joined the International HETL
Association - http://hetl.org, which aims at developing a global community of professionals in
higher education to advance the scholarship and expertise in teaching and learning via dialogue,
networking, collaboration, research, and education development.

For the past year Professor Ahmed has been an active member of HETL and has provided
valuable advice to HETL executive management in the areas of sustainable learning, peace-
building, and international relations. Professor Ahmed was appointed Ambassador of the HETL
Association for the Africa and Middle East region in March, 2012. He has also contributed to
professional discussions in our discussion forum which is the largest of its kind in the world. As
a leader, he has enormous enthusiasm for new and innovative ideas and is able to draw around
him people with the combined expertise needed to accomplish ambitious project goals.

Professor Ahmed is an avid researcher who has published book chapters and papers. Much of his
work involves international collaboration with colleagues in universities in China, India, the
USA, and others. Professor Ahmed has provided considerable leadership for global education
technology as an expert in research, training and humanity development within Arab and
International Universities and in EURO-Mediterranean human rights network.

His work has been recognized through awards and he was invited to be a speaker at the 2011
World Congress on Engineering and Technology in Shanghai, China, the Fourth Annual
Nanotechnology Symposium, Sullivan University, College of Pharmacy, 2011, United States, the
2nd International Conference in E-learning and Distance Learning, Riyadh, KSA, 2011, and the
