This document is a dissertation submitted for a Master of Science degree that focuses on improvements to the design of jet engine experiments. It includes a literature review summarizing several previous studies on developing jet engine test stands for educational purposes. It then describes the author's methodology for modeling and simulating different designs for a jet engine test stand structure using finite element analysis. The results of thrust measurements from engine tests and stress simulations of the different structural designs are also presented and discussed. The document concludes with recommendations for instrumentation improvements and potential future work.
