1) Students learn best through social interaction, hands-on practice, asking questions, and making mistakes rather than through simple, individual tasks. 2) For true understanding to occur, teachers must trust students' minds, actively inquire into their thinking, and see themselves as learners from their students. 3) Professional development for teachers is most effective when done collaboratively in teams, as opposed to conventional isolated "spray and pray" methods.
