God created the heavens and the earth over six days. On each day God created a different part of the world: light and darkness on day one, sky and sea on day two, land and plants on day three, sun moon and stars on day four, birds and sea creatures on day five, land animals and mankind on day six. God rested on the seventh day. God placed the first man, Adam, in the Garden of Eden and later created Eve from Adam's rib to be his companion.
