2. Challenges in Micro or Smart Grid or
Distribution Automation or DER Adoption?
- Different communication technologies
- Lack of adoption of a single platform
to address problems that are shared by
all devices and all applications.
3. System Overview
The Gynex Remote Monitoring System (RMS) is on Internet-of-Things (loT) platform is specifcally designed by Gennex Energy Solutions especially targeted
for Energy, Power, Water , Utilities and Telecom applications to enable wider adoption of the Distributed Generation Applications
It enables real-time system monitoring, reporting and control of these from a web portal that is accessible from any PC or portable/mobile device. The Gynex
MGC, is at the heart of Gynex RMS and acts as a data collector on site, connects with various devices on a generation or telecom site and relays information
to the central server. It interfaces with other Gynex services over the proprietary DxBUS interface and also has provisions to connect with other third-party
vendors over industry standard interfaces such as RS232, RS485, MODBUS, Ethernet, Bluetooth & WiFi etc.. The Gynex web portal consolidates data from oil
the sites on which Gynex MS has been deployed in a user-friendly graphical interface. In addition to the graphical interface, it provides on advanced view for
deployment/debugging. It provides live video streaming from up to 4 IP cameras attached to the RMS. Furthermore, videos ore recorded onto a built-in SATA
hard drive that con be viewed from the web portal anywhere, anytime!
4. Universal RTU & MGC
• Secure and Scalable
• Customizable for Microgrid, Distribution Grid, Telco and other remote monitoring
• Real Time Remote Monitoring & Control
• Easy Integration With 3rd Party Devices
• Over-The-Air (OTA) Firmware Updates
Micro or Smart Grid or Distribution Automation
or DER Adoption

further configured for utility workforce management systems
6. Server
Architecture
- The server architecture of Gynex RMS consists of 3 ports;
- Data Collection and Exchange platform: Also known as the Application platform, ploys
the vital role in the system. It runs KINETIX RMS's own authentication protocol for the
RMS devices, hence mitigating the fear of any "alien" devices being connected to the
server. It also parse the data and store it into the database as per the required standard
defined by our database specialists.
- Central Database: Where oil the data of the RMS and users is stored.
- Web Portal: The graphical unit interface for the end users, which runs different APls and
data analytics functions in the background to show the data in the shape of graphs and in
the form which is understandable by the normal user. All these systems are protected by
the server firewall and the standard server security principles ore ensured for each
platform.
8. GIS BASED GYNEX
PORTAL
The Gynex Web Portal shows all the information gathered from
active RMS's installed on sites. At
1) The user lands on the mop page which shows the location of
all the RMS installed around the world.
2) Below ore the screenshots of the landing page. On clicking the
bubble of each RMS, the details for that respective RMS are
displayed. User con also go to the dashboard of that RMS by
3) clicking "GO TO SITE".
9. GIS BASED GYNEX
PORTAL
- The Site view can be accessed by clicking on a certain site within a certain region. This view
- displays the real-time information from the site. It shows the information about the important
- values of the selected devices, a map of the site, environment information (temperature, windspeed,
- humidity etc.), images of the site, and live stream from the camera installed at the site. Gynex
- RMS allows users to create custom dashboards, using state of the art widgets for each region, site
- and devices. This helps users to view the information they want to see in much attractive way. The
- main advantage for Gynex RMS's dashboard is that it allows users to drag and drop these widgets
- and move them wherever they want. The Dashboard view shown below displays the Fuel and Power report
- of all the sites where Gynex RMS has been displayed through a convenient graphical interface. The
- Fuel report shows the aggregate consumption, refilling and theft of fuel at all sites. Whereas the
- Power report shows the amount of time the sites remained on Mains, Genset, Batteries and the amount
- load shedding.
10. DASHBOARD
- The Dashboard section provides site
data for the client. The Monitoring section
provides on advanced view of row data
coming from each site. This is generally
used in the deployment phase or for
debugging later on. The Administration
section shows all the administrative
options for management of users,
creation/deletion of sites. This section is
only accessible for our technical support
team. Clicking a certain region (for
instance (Rogers/Bell) in the below view
tokes us to the some view for only
- that particular region.
11. DASHBOARD

12. EVENT VIEW
- The Recorded Videos can be downloaded directly to
the server from the remote site to the Server
- Database. Once any user with access to a particular
site's video files, downloads a video in the
- server database, later the same video is never
downloaded again for any other user.
13. LIVE
MONITORING
- Gynex RTU/ RMS is its live monitoring with attractive dials and buttons.
Admin users of the web portal con select from many dials and buttons to
make the view attractive and easy to understand as per their requirements.
Gynex RMS is designed with dork theme by keeping in mind the Control
Centre engineers, who may have to look at the screen 24/7 and looking at the
bright colors may harm their eyesight and hence lowering their performance.
Gynex Cloud RMS will help engineers to easily monitor the data without
compromising their eyesight and mind.
- The Trending menu shows the graphical history of every data sent by all the
devices of RMS.
- Although, Gynex RMS cloud stores the data since the installation of the RMS,
but the limit of 1 month history maximum at a time is imposed on the system in
order to avoid any extra load on the server.
14. SYSTEM ADMIN
• The Administration menu allows administrators to odd/delete user
profiles, users, user rights, update device string patterns, odd new RMS
locations, send custom commands to all the RMS installed etc.
• This menu is only available for System Administrator.
• Users and Group Management tab allows the administrators to define
the users' profiles i.e. what type of data each profile should view and
what ore the user rights.
• In User and Group Management tab the administrators can also
create the users and the persons who are responsible for the
management of RMS. Sites Management tab inside the Administration
allows the administrators to define the RMS names installed in
different locations, their power structure, their types, the networks used
by them etc.
• The images for each RMS installation con also be uploaded from this tab.
Device Management tab allows administrators to define the data
structure for each device and view all the devices connected with each
RMS.
• Administrators can also send custom commands to one or more than one
RMS devices using the Device Management tab.
• Again, this feature is only available to the System Administrator or
the administrator of the Gynex RMS web portal.
