Getting Started Using a
Facebook Page

                 updates, this will be different tomorrow)
1.   Post as personal or as page
2.   Access settings
3.   Fill in page information
4.   Brand your page with a timeline cover image
5.   Page avatar (shows next to all your posts)
6.   Customize your page tabs
1.   Allow your page to show in Facebook‟s recommended pages
2.   Set if you want to receive email notifications – click link to
     establish further email notification preferences
3.   Receive a notification when someone sends a message to
     your page
1.   Publish or unpublish your page
2.   Set preferences of what others can post on your page
3.   Turn off page messaging feature (by default this is turned on)
4.   Delete your page
1.   Set page type
2.   Set unique page name. This can only be changed once so type carefully!
3.   Fill in your page information
1.   Branding / Recognition
2.   Edit thumbnail to fit
3.   Recommend uploading a file over taking a picture
1.   Pick up to 5 featured pages that your page likes
2.   Show who the page owners are
1.   Have duplicate pages? Request to
     merge them here
2.   Links for Ads and creating page name
3.   We don‟t recommend inviting email
     contacts
4.   Social plugins – get code for your
     website, blog, etc. such as “Like”
     “Send” “Comments” “Like Box”
5.   We do recommend linking to your
     Twitter account so all posts also get
     tweeted (longer than 140 characters
     links back to page)

•   Edit settings – add / remove. On events, Additional Permissions allows new
    events to be posted to the wall.
•   Link directly to the tab (from posts, emails or other social media)
•   Delete an App
•   Search for available apps – Google+, YouTube, etc.
•   … Or create your own custom tab
•   Admin Roles – make sure there is at
    least one other admin on the account

•   Mobile – allows you to post from your
    mobile device

•   Review page Insights

•   Facebook page help center
Under the Admin section, click the drop down under
   Build Audience and select Invite Friends

Create Your Own Custom Tab
        Similar to a web page,
but keeps it all on your Facebook page
1.      Tag other pages in your
        post
2.      After pasting in a link and
        it displays under post,
        delete it in the status
        window
3.      Edit the link title or
        description
4.      Pick from available
        images to display
5.      Schedule a post for a
        later time
6.      Promote your post for
        more visibility

Post!
1.   Switch to the Page (top right corner)
2.   Share other„s posts, adding a comment
3.   Like and comment on other‟s posts … engage with their
     audience

For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like
   photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the
   following permission, subject to your privacy and application
   settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-
   licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content
   that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License).
   This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your
   account unless your content has been shared with others, and
   they have not deleted it.
