Getting Started with iGoogle
- 1. Getting Started with iGoogle Learn with CDLC Project Spring 2011
- 2. If you don’t have a Google account, go to: http://google.com/accounts/NewAccount Fill in the form to create your account. If you do have a Google account, just sign in.
- 3. Then go to the iGoogle start page http://www.google.com/ig 1: Choose some interests. 2: Choose a theme 3: Set your location 4: See your page!
- 6. Browse for a theme you like Click on Add it Now to activate the theme Add it now
- 7. I found NEMO!!
- 8. Google calls each box of content a “gadget”
- 9. Gadgets can be rearranged by clicking and dragging
- 10. To delete a gadget: Click on the triangle and select Delete this gadget
- 11. To add more gadgets and ‘stuff’, click on Add Stuff
- 12. Browse by categories on left or use search box on right. Click on Add it Now Back to iGoogle home to get back to your page
- 13. Try searching for Upper Hudson Library System Surprise! They have a library catalog gadget. Can you find other library related gadgets?
- 14. Add a Tab to create pages for other topics
- 15. “ I’m feeling lucky” tries to find related content for you

- 17. Subscribe to this feed using Google
- 18. Add to Google Homepage
- 19. Added to the last tab you had open
- 20. You can also add blogs directly with the ADD STUFF button
- 21. Then find the Add Feed or Gadget option
- 22. Type in the blog URL (or the RSS feed URL) If it’s successful, you’ll see a confirmation.
