- 5. 3 TIER Structure Basics TIER 1 is the home page , which describes your overall Site Concept, and how the site is structured. Keying in the domain name lands you on the home page. TIER 2 pages (T2) are one click away from the home page. Visitors enter them via… (a) your NavBar or (b) the Table of Contents links at the bottom of the home page or (3) text or image links from other pages on your site . T2 pages divide your Site Concept into categories; they also include "utility" pages such as Contact Us , About Us or E-zine Subscription pages.

They go into detail about aspects of the T2 category. T3 pages do not appear on your NavBar. (That’s what makes them TIER 3 pages.) There are usually several T3 pages under each T2 category. T3 pages are accessed via links from their T2 pages and may also be linked to other T3s. A TIER 3 can be linked to other T2s and/or T3s when relevant.
