Global Project Management
Adelin Cintron
St Joseph’s College
Introduction
• In Project Management we can find different
  types of projects
 Depending on the organization itself
 The location involved in the project
• Global project managers are involved in what is
called a distributed project, as well as
  international or virtual projects
 Involving team members in many locations
Theoretical Framework
• Different challenges in international/distributed
  projects.
    Number of locations
    Different organizations
    Countries Culture
    Times Zones
    Language Barrier
    Technology
Theoretical Framework
• The Global PM framework addresses the
  common challenges of the international,
distributed and virtual projects being committed
  to global projects.
• This category can be defined as a grouping of
virtual and international projects, which include
people from different organizations working in
  different countries across the world.
Statement of the Problem
• Communication is important for a project
team, they must agree on the problem
 The confusion or problem can cause uncertainty and
personnel will be unsure of the purpose
• All projects will have issues or problems that
must overcome in order to produce the final
  product.
• Several strategies will be required to be used for
  the solution
Purpose of the Study
• The purpose of this study is understanding what
project managers do to work together when it
  comes to a global project.
• The tools that are in place for virtualization of
  these projects.
• Making the project managers indispensable for
  business results
Research design
• This study would be a quasi-experimental design
because with the research design the researcher
will be able to target different group in different
  organizations.
• The experimental design will allow the
researcher to test different types of tools in the
global region to view where the issue or problem
comes into step in the project.
Data Collection
• The data will be collected will be based on
various project managers based on the type of
  project
• An electronic survey will be send out due to the
capability and flexibility based on the times
  zones.
• There will be several virtual based forums to be
able to complied the information needed for the
  data.
Hypothesis and the Results
• Projects going through an organized evaluation and
  management process and connected decision-
making steps would perform better than projects
  that do not.
 Develop and deploy a questionnaire and interview guide
 Conduct a series of workshops with the representative of
     the organization
 Based on the input, develop an international project risk
tool that would target the project management staff that
would identify economic, cultural, experience and
     technical area.
