- 2. • LEV 23 23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 34 . . .The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord

Zech 8:22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord. 23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

ACTS 20:6 And we (PAUL) sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread. 16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

PAUL TOOK THE FEASTS VERY SERIOUSLY • HIS EPISTLES HAVE MANY REFERENCES TO THE FEASTS • IN WRITING TO GENTILE CHURCHES, PAUL ASSUMES HE IS WRITING TO PEOPLE WHO CELEBRATE THE FEASTS! • About PURITY OF LIFE: 1 COR 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. • About RESURRECTION: 1 COR 15: 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so

OLD HABITS: Need to learn new ways to respond. If you only do what you have always done. . . You will only have what you always had! OLD WAYS OF THINKING: We must learn new ways of understanding, talking, relating (Poverty Cycle: Poverty is not lack of money . . . it is a mindset!) REFUSAL TO REPENT: (Renounce and turn from old ways!) To break out of old cycle, ask God: “How do You want me to CHANGE?)
- 25. CYCLES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, GOD ESTABLISHED CYCLES IN THE LIVES OF HIS PEOPLE 1ST Cycle was a WEEKLY “SHABBAT” cycle. Established in Genesis 1 At Creation of the WorldGOD PROMISED TO INVADE YOUR LIFE: Isa 58:14: “You will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and you will feast on inheritance of your father Jacob!” every week, take a day to rest from labors and enjoy God’s blessings

CYCLES GOD ALSO GAVE HIS PEOPLE a YEARLY CYCLE of LIFE It was designed to take them through key steps to deepen their walk with the Lord, break the power of the enemy, and release the power of God! Repeating this cycle every year was designed to bring them into an ever-increasing experience of God’s blessing, and increasing victory over the enemy

APPOINTED TIMES SOME ARE “ONE TIME” EVENTS Only one time to be physically BORN and only one time to DIE SOME ARE REPEATED EVENTS They recur every time around a cycle. Every new year brings a new time to PLANT and a new time to REAP. SOME APPOINTED TIMES REPEAT SO REGULARLY THEY FORM A CALENDAR In the Bible God gives us a yearly calendar of these appointed times.
- 33. THIS CALENDAR OF APPOINTED TIMES IS VERY IMPORTANT APPOINTED TIMES • A GREAT DEAL OF Scripture is devoted to it. • Wonderful promises to those who keep it. • Many examples given in the Word. And yet . . . • Most Christians are totally IGNORANT of it! APPOINTED TIMES are also called “FEASTS” Not just “HOLIDAYS” or “RITUALS” They are times set by God to accomplish certain things in our lives! THEY ARE LITERALLY, “APPOINTMENTS” with GOD
