- 4. Google Orkut Orkut is a social networking site that allows you to form new relationships with people that have the same interests as you or keep in touch with current friends by chatting and uploading pictures to your personal profile.

- 6. Picasa Picasa is a photo sharing site that allows you to upload and share photos with friends and family. One main feature provided is the ability to combine music and pictures to create a movie. Some additional features are: cropping, highlighting, and red-eye correction.
- 7. Implementing These Tools In Your Classroom Google Translate is one of the many free tools available to you, as a teacher, to help you with your students. If you have a foreign student join your room, you can use this tool to understand them better and also teach the child how to use it to get help on their homework and to socialize with other children in the class. It is very simple to use Google Translate; first you choose the language that you are translating from and the language that you are trying to translate to. Then you type in the word or sentence and it will translate for you.
- 8. Communication In and Outside Of The Classroom Many teachers report that parent communication is one of the most difficult parts of their job and Google Orkut could be the answer. You can keep in touch with students and parents by sending messages, chatting, adding pictures, or posting upcoming events. To become a member of this social network you can sign in using your Gmail account. After you enter some information (such as age and sex), you can add as much or as little personal information as you want to your profile to share with others.
- 9. Putting This Information To Use We have learned that there are many features that Google provides to us free of service such as Translate, Calendar, Orkut, Knol, and Picasa. Although it may seem easier to just use tools that you are already familiar with, there are many tutorials available on Youtube that can give you step-by- step instructions on how to use each tool. Not only will utilizing these tools save you time, but they will also benefit the children in your classroom.
