An intake interview required for families new to Ride the Wave Counseling. 609-300-6366 | ridethewavecounseling@gmail.com www.ridethewavecounseling.com 3rd/4th Grade How to Hang Out is a social learning program designed to help boys in learn how to successfully engage in reciprocal play and spend time with similar-age boys in semi-structured & unstructured social situations. The program is not a social skills group where kids sit around and practice scripted behaviors or learn social communication skills that are unnatural to the way boys communicate with each other. We "learn social" from a male perspective and have fun in the process. Skills taught in 3rd/4th grade How to Hang Out: -Understanding how you come across to others and understanding others' thoughts/feelings -Being flexible for the sake of being part of a group -How to show an interest in others so they know you want to be friends -Using humor in an age-expected manner -Differentiating between small problems and big problems in social situations Program Dates: March 9, 16, 23, 30 10:30-12:00 P.M. Location: Meet at Ventnor Library (6500 Ventnor Ave. Ventnor, NJ 08406) Fee: $175.00 (plus a small amount of spending money for a snack) Registration Deadline: March 1, 2019 HTHO is a skill-building program, not "group therapy" thus not reimbursable by insurance.
