This document discusses the different types of radiation and their effects on human health. There are two main types - ionizing radiation, which can break chemical bonds and cause cancer, and non-ionizing radiation, which is not believed to cause cancer. Ionizing radiation includes X-rays and gamma rays and can cause nausea, fatigue, vomiting, hair loss, diarrhea and even death with higher exposure. The nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 killed approximately 166,000 people from the blast and radiation exposure and up to 100,000 additional people later died from radiation-induced cancers.
