GRADING PROCEDURES (HOMEWORK,TEST ETC.)
• MEANING OF GRADING
PROCEDURES :- Grading in
education is the process of
applying stardardised
measures of varying level of
achievement in a course Grades
can be assigned in letters (For
example – A,B,C,D and E)
GRADING PROCEDURES ACCORDING TO
CBSE
•According to CBSE , ‘’
Grading means a Method of
measuring students
achievements using a grading
symbol instead of raw marks
NEED OF GRADING PROCEDURE
• Grading Procedures
would not give partial
credit to levels of the
students. Without
grades of any kind
may sound like
exercise in fantsy.
CRETERIA FOR EVALUATION OF
GRADING PROCEDURES :-
• We can identify some creteria for evaluating Grading
Procedures through following points :-
• 1. Uphold high academic standard.
• 2. Reflect student Learning outcomes.
• 3. Motivate students to excel.
• 4. Reduce student stress.
• 5. Be simple
•1. Uphold high academic standard :-
A system would establish &
maintained in high standard for
students work.
•2. Reflect student learning outcomes :-
A letter grading procedure describes
the relationship between the grades
and outcomes achievements.
•3. Motivate Students to Excel :- A
better grading procedures motivate
students to work hard and to do their
best.
•4. Reduce Students Stress :- The better
grading procedure reduces students
stress and give students a stronger
sense of control over their educational
lives.
•5. Be Simple :- In the modern
era, grading system has too
many rating levels for too
many indviduals assingnments
and it is considred as simple.
• Importance of Grading
Procedures :-
Grading is impotant because of :-
1 . Work hard to get good grades :-
•Most students work hard to
get good grades. If grades
are not awarded to students,
then they don’t do hard
work.
2. PAY MORE ATTENTION IN CLASS:-
• Student will pay more attention in class, so
that they get better grades.
3. BENEFICIAL TO GET BETTER JOBS:-
• Students who get higher GPA are more likely to
get better jobs than the students with low GPA.
4. DETERMINE ABILITY TO WORK:-
• Student grades can help the hiring
company to determine student ability
to work.
HOMEWORK:-
• Teacher use homework to
reinforce and review curriculum
content.
• Parents can assist with
homework by providing a
routine to complete homework.
• Teacher match homework with
students ability and maturity
levels.
TESTING:-
• Testing requires careful
thought. Fair test which cover
the material can increase
student motivation and
satisfaction with a course.
Tests provides feedback to
teachers about students
performance.
CONCLUSION:-
• In nutshell, grading procedures should be
used to understand the student
knowledge. It also helps students to figure
the amount of knowledge they have
gained from their courses.
