1 st Grade Math Standards 9.) Math Concepts: The student knows solid shapes in the environment, including cubes, rectangular prisms, cones, spheres, and cylinders. A) identify cubes, rectangular prisms, cones, spheres, and cylinders 5.) Math Concepts: The student knows how to create patterns. A) Describing characteristics of patterns B) Extending patterns including number patterns C) Identify patterns in the environment 10.) Math Concepts: The student knows objects according to length, weight, and capacity by measuring the length of nonstandard units. A) Measuring the length of objects using a variety of nonstandard units.
Students take on the role as investigators as they identify cubes, rectangular prisms, cones, spheres, and cylinders in the classroom. Students take on the role as investigator as they describe and identify patterns in the environment outside the school. Students will use objects of unequal length objects to find the length of objects in the classroom such as, desks, books, and paper clips. 1st Grade Math Objectives
