The purpose of this assignment is for you to:
Be able to draw anatomy, environment and object concept art for computer games
Be able to present concept artwork for computer games
Scenario
You are a freelance games concept artist trying to break into the industry. In order to do this you will need to expand your
portfolio. As part of your career development you are going to approach a range of developers with a view to securing
commissions.
For the second and final stage of the process you will choose an existing game and research, design and produce concept art for
a new character, their equipment/weapons/tools and a new level/area/world backdrop. The whole of your design process will
be presented appropriately for submission to the client via your blog.
You need to use media and techniques that are appropriate for your style of drawing and that suit your idea. The idea is to
extend and develop the game by providing new content, but to make sure that this content works within the game.

Reflect on the work you produced for assignment HA5 Prepare to Dream and choose an existing game to develop a new character, objects and
environment for. Include a profile of the game and your new character. Remember that the visual research that you carry out here will assist you
in the creation of your illustrations.
You are aiming to draw anatomy, environment and object concept artwork for computer games to near-professional standards, showing creativity
and flair and working independently to professional expectations.

Task 2
Development Studies for Character, Objects and Environment
Produce a series of development drawings that create a design pack for your chosen game’s new character, objects and environment. These
drawings are by their very nature more experimental and expressive.
Work to your strengths and ensure that you feed yourself with primary and secondary information where required.
Ensure that you have included all aspects of your workflow or design process from start to finish within a production log inside this post. You will
need to update this at least once per week (ideally after each session) and include explanatory notes and illustrations.

Final Illustrations for Character, Objects and Environment
Produce a finished illustration for your character, objects and environment. Aim for consistency in style and medium.

need to update this at least once per week (ideally after each session) and include explanatory notes and illustrations.

Presentation Montage
Digitise your work and combine your finished illustrations into a poster montage ready for submission to the client.
