Hector was the oldest son of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy. He acted as a strong, confident leader of the Trojans and defended Troy during the Trojan War. Hector loved his country, his wife Andromache, and his young son Astyanax. Though he initially tried to avoid war, he fought bravely for Troy but was ultimately killed by Achilles in revenge for killing Achilles' cousin Patroclus. Hector's motivations were patriotism for Troy and love of his family and homeland.
