INTRODUTION
❖ Cosmetics are defined as the substance which can be used to
cleanse,nourish and moisturize the skin of human body.they can
be used in various forms to protect the skin,modify
imperfections and beautify the skin.
❖ Herbal cosmetics are defined as the beauty products which
possess desirable physiological activities such as skin healing,
smoothening, appearance, enhancing and conditioning
properties because of herbal ingredients.

➢ COLD CREAM:-
• It is an (w/o) type of emulsion. used as moisturizer, makeup remover
and cleanser. The main principle of cold cream involves slow
evaporation of water phase which leads to cooling sensation.
• In olden days the cold cream was prepared from animal fats and
vegetable oils.
• Example: Almond,Aloe vera.
➢ VANISHING CREAM:-
• Vanishing cream are also called foundation cream because they
disappears rapidly when rubbed on skin.
• Example: Termeric.

➢ CLEANSING CREAMS :-
• Cleansing cream are used to be applied on skin for removing the facial
makeup and also used to improve the healthy and good appearance to
the skin.
• They contain other ingredients which helps to soften, lubricate or
protect the skin.
• Example: Lemon,Cucumber,Rose water.
➢ FACE LOTION :-
• These are also called the bleaching lotions, actually alter the colour
of skin like the whitening cream.

• The hair colorants are used for coloring of the hair.it also used to
cover gray or white hair and enhance the attractiveness.

oral disease.
• Chewing sticks are usually taken from plants, shrubs or trees with
high anti-microbial activity. Young twigs of any of a number of
Neem, Oaks, Willows have served for chewing sticks.
• Natural herbs used in oral care are safe and effective. It prevents
various oral health problems such as bleeding gums,mouth ulcers
and tooth decay.

➢ Natural and pure with long term effects.

DISADVANTAGES
➢ They are difficult to hide taste and odor.
➢ They have slower effects as compare to allopathic dosage
form. Also it requires long term therapy.
➢ Manufacturing process are time consuming and
complicated.
➢ Most of the herbal drugs are not easily available.
➢ No pharmacopoeia defines or any specific procedure are
required to be used in any of herbal cosmetics.
