First … know where the test will be:

         Monday, January 24th
                 1 pm
         Block B – portable 2
         Block C – room 220
         Block D – portable 5
Start preparing early
ACTIVELY STUDY
 Rewrite notes
 Redo tests/quizzes
 Text review sections
 Study group
 Online study sites
 Create flash cards
**Don’t just flip through notes … it’s a
  waste of time
SLEEP
Get a good nights sleep .. your
brain will function better than if
stay up until 3 am cramming. You
make silly mistakes when you are
tired. If you are rested your brain will
work better and you’ll be able to use
your common sense and logic on
questions you don’t know how to do.
EAT properly
BREAKFAST! (not a pop and bag
of chips!) Be sure to give your
brain the fuel it needs to work for
you. If nothing else have a piece of fruit … they
are made up of slow release sugars that won’t
have you crash in the middle of the test. Bring
a water bottle and a bag of nuts to test ..

                   Great brain food!
Arrive early for the
Exam …..

A good 10 to 15 minutes
before the test so you can
get settled. Running in at the
last minute is not a great way
to start a major exam.
Hints for preparing for the midterm exam
Writing the test smartly!
Come with your own supplies

Bring your own supplies … you are not allowed to share or
ask the teacher during the test. You cannot use the
  calculator on a cell phone.
Reminder:
Do NOT bring the following items into the exam:
    - Backpacks or purses
    - Cellphones
    - ipods and ear phones

Leave them in your locker or at home.
Organize your scrap work
Fill in the scantron sheet carefully

We’ve all put the answer
in the wrong space on a
scantron so to avoid this … always
  think
“ Question 24 – A” when filling it in.
Don’t waste time coloring on
the answer sheet
SKIP questions
Write them at the top of your
 scrap paper and move on!
 Questions that seem too long,
you’ve forgotten how to do, seem
confusing etc….. Its better to finish
all the questions you are sure
 about first!
Use your common sense
Some questions can be figured out
 without actually doing them …
 use your knowledge about signs
 and estimation of numbers to
 eliminate answers.
Remember:

There are NO bonus marks for
 being the first person finished!
Take your time to check over your test. Don’t make plans
with your friends until after 3 pm, so that you don’t
hurry through the test to get out. You only get one
chance to write this test so its worth taking your time to
  put in your best effort.

                    Good Luck!!
