Activity
• Information literacy means knowing when and why you need
information, where to find it, and how to evaluate, use and
communicate it in an ethical manner.
• On a scale of 1 (abysmal) to 10 (brilliant) give yourself a mark to
reflect how you rate your information literacy skills..
• Your tutor is now going to give you some specific items of
information to think about.
• In a group, discuss briefly how you would go about finding each of
those items – where would you start? Would you try print first or
online? Do you think it would be easy to track down? What sort of
problems might you encounter? If you have time, have a go at
finding the information online.
• Be prepared to share your thoughts with the group in a few minutes.
