                                                  Lab Report

   1. Research question:
   a) What are the types of forces applied in a hovercraft?
   b) What’s holding the hovercraft up above the table/floor?
   c) Compare your hovercraft and a normal CD lying on the floor. Which one has more freedom to move around?
Why? What type of force that has been minimized?

   2. Make a hypothesis:

   3. Do the experiment:
      Materials:
             • CD -water bottle with tap
             • balloon -pin
             • glue/plasticine -scissor

      Experiment:
         1. Take the bottle tap and pinch three tiny holes at the centre using a pin
         2. Stick the bottle tap to the centre of a CD using glue or plasticine
         3. Make sure the three holes on the bottle tap aren’t covered by the CD
         4. Leave the CD, now take the water bottle and cut the bottle neck using scissor
         5. Attach a balloon to the bottle neck
         6. Blow the balloon and twist/cover the balloon mouth (don’t let go the air just yet)
         7. Now join the bottle neck and bottle tap
         8. There you go, you have successfully make your own hovercraft
         9. You may now let go your hovercraft on the floor or a smooth table
         10. Observe the hovercraft and identify the types of forces applied on the hovercraft
         11. Play with it and critically assess the design, the use of it, and how u can improve it
         12. Last but not least, discuss and answer the research questions.
4. Result
Draw the hovercraft and illustrate the forces applied on it to see how it can float in the air.

6. Reflection
   a) What are the limitations of your hovercraft design?

   b) What can we improve on the design so that we can implement it in daily life usage?
