- #21: Since 1997, the International Mission Board has organized itself into fourteen administrative regions. These regions are the result of many factors including: mission history, ethnolinguistic affinities, geographical proximity, strategic priorities and personnel management considerations. Each region is led by a regional leadership team which has responsibility to devise strategies to fulfill the International Mission Board’s vision in their respective region. The number of International Mission Board missionaries serving in each region ranges from about 250-500 personnel. However, the population size of the regions varies widely. The two largest regions (East Asia and Central and Southern Asia) have a combined population of nearly three billion while four regions have populations of less than 150 million each. Over the past century and a half, Southern Baptists have repeatedly adapted the size and shape of their global ministries to further their vision aspirations. The most recent changes occurred in 1997 when they went from ten to 14 regions. With the 1997 change, for the first time, Southern Baptists structure encompassed all the countries of the world. Strategic Questions What are the implications of global structure and configuration for closing the gap between our current reality and our vision? What are the implications for how we do missions?

- #45: The CROSS is the Central Focus of all that we do. We believe that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and was resurrected to take the burden and penalty for our sin. Therefore; the cross is representative of the forgiveness that we receive and the free gift of salvation that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. The 7 Churches illustrate God's complete and perfect representation of a relationship with His son, Jesus. The church images are varied to communicate the diversity of local fellowships that are reaching various groups of people. The churches are joined by a Gold Circle to represent the pure and perfect love that God desires within His church so that the world may know Him by the love that is seen among believers. The Circle further represents the partnership of the churches linked together for the purpose of communicating Christ to a lost world. The Telecommunications Antenna on top of the cross represents the churches of our two associations broadcasting the message of Christ throughout our immediate area and around the world, utilizing every possible means.
