- 3. The Blessing of Being Saved Psalms 126:1-6
- 4. Psalms 126:1-2 (HCSB) 1 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. 2 Our mouths were filled with laughter then, and our tongues with shouts of joy. Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."
- 5. Psalms 126:3-4 3 The LORD had done great things for us; we were joyful. 4 Restore our fortunes, LORD, like watercourses in the Negev.
- 6. Psalms 126:5-6 5 Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. 6 Though one goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with shouts of joy, carrying his sheaves.
- 7. I. THE BLESSING OF BEING SAVED EXPERIENCED
- 8. A. It is a Real Salvation Acts 12:9-“And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.” :11-"Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”
- 9. B. It is a Recognizable Salvation You cannot separate gratitude from gladness.
- 10. II. THE BLESSING OF BEING SAVED EXHIBITED
- 11. A. Commenced (or begin) with Gladness
- 12. 2 “They said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’” 3 “The Lord has done great things for us; We are glad.” “To God be the glory"
- 13. B. Climaxed with Sadness
- 14. God's formula for His blessing is in verses 5 and 6 : “ Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”
- 15. III. THE BUSINESS OF BEING SAVED ENJOYED
- 16. A. A God-Given Program
- 17. So what must we sow? Tell people about God’s Purpose Tell people about Our Need Tell people about God’s Provision Tell people about Our Response : Repent of your sin Place your faith in Christ Surrender to Him as Lord
- 18. Here is a law of the harvest . . . “ No sowing, no reaping.”
- 19. B. A God-Given Passion There is a reason for a lack of soul winners. The winners of souls are first the weepers of souls.
- 20. A program without a passion will only produce dreams; no streams.
- 21. C. A God-Given Power "Thy word is very pure: therefore, thy servant loveth it." - Psalms 119:140
- 22. D. A God-Given Promise 5 "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” 6 "shall doubtless come again with rejoicing.”
- 23. Response If you are not saved, commit your life to Christ today. If you know Christ, commit to not keep it to yourself. If you know Christ, you must intentionally sow the seed.
- 26. UNDERSTANDING THE LORD’S SUPPER
- 27. The Lord’s Supper shows us 2 things: The meaning of our Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. The hope of His coming.
- 28. Who should participate? ONE biblical criteria: Salvation
- 29. Who should not participate: Those who have never accepted Christ (including children and youth)
- 30. 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: on the night when He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, 24 gave thanks, broke it, and said, "This is My body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me."
