Professor Mark Brown gave a presentation on the potential for artificial intelligence (AI) to impact education. He discussed how rising demand may not be met through traditional approaches alone. Current examples of AI in education include adaptive intelligent tutors and automated basic activities or learning design. In the future, AI could take the form of a personal coach for learners and potentially change the teacher's role. The presentation concluded that the possibility of AI partly replacing teachers needs to be taken seriously as the next big development in education.
