The Ottoman Of The Byzantine Empire
The Byzantine army was a very large and successful army that brought the Byzantine Empire into the
middle ages. The army flourished because of their new developments in warfare, and their organized
battle tactics. The fall of the Byzantine Empire was due to the Ottoman Turks, who had been pushing
borders constantly. The Byzantine Empire never had complete military peace throughout their entire
1000 years. This lead to several influential developments in their civilization. Through this paper, I
will discuss various types of troops and formations that the Byzantine Army used for many years as
well as the overall organization.
After the fall of Rome, and due to Diocletian s efforts, the land was split up into two parts, East, and
West. The western part was claimed by the Goth s and other enemies. A city in the eastern part of the
territory called Byzantium was reclaimed by the people inhabiting the area, mainly Greeks. The
civilization of Byzantium was formed as a result. Constantine the Great, an Emperor of the Roman
Empire made a city in Eastern Rome called Constantinople (now known as Istanbul), and this city
later became the capital of the Byzantine Empire, as well as the capital of ancient Christianity. In the
early days of the Empire, the Byzantine army was still fighting in the old, Roman ways. Their
strategies were not working well, as they had too much land to govern from one location. Their
military was small, because they did not have enough money from tax, a

BMF Media Internship Report
Before beginning this internship at BMF media, I came up with two different evaluation proposals.
These were certain ways to prove that I accomplished my goals. My first evaluation was in terms of
my goal that was to participate and plan an event to tell a story for the client. The tangible evidence I
stated that I would submit will be documentation of the process of planning the event along with
photos and outcomes of the event through social media.
My second evaluation was connected to my goal of connecting and working with specific influencers
on a personal level. I said that my tangible evidence would include documentation of meetings along
with emails and notes for the steps of the project that we were working on with a client. ... Show more

I have multiple case studies that I have proofread, started on my own, or just added photos and
summaries to. A case study was something we had to create for the client before and after an event.
This would also help us in knowing what is best for the future and what went wrong during the event.
Before the event we would have a case study that consisted of digital pictures and examples of what
the venue would look like, and then the one after the event that would have pictures of the event, the
food and possibly review of the events. Another piece of documentation was the big project I worked
on throughout all 3 months at my internship. This was an excel sheet of about 2,000 brands,
throughout my weeks at BMF I searched for the right personal contacts for these brands so we could
reach out to them. Some other evidence I have is notes that I had to take from every call that I sat in
on with clients. I also have some power points of venue options; this is a PowerPoint for events that
we had to look for the perfect venue. These included multiple venues with many photos and
descriptions of the venue. In terms of reports and output, I have email responses from work I have

What Are The Events In The Life Of Babe Ruth
The Life Of Babe Ruth
Babe Ruth, born George Ruth, Jr., is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time.
Everybody knows how great a hitter Babe was and how he virtually invented the home run. Not
everybody knows how great of a pitcher Babe was, even though he was one of the best left handed
pitchers of all time. Babe had a 92 and 44 record, 67.6%, and a 2.24 career earned run average in 163
games pitched. Not many career .342 hitters that averaged a home run every 11.8 at bats can say that.
George Ruth, Jr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on February 6, 1895, son of George Herman Ruth,
Sr. and Kate Ruth. George took the name of Herman at his confirmation ... Show more content on

Babe Ruth. At first George thought the name, Babe, was a joke, but after a while it became like a
proper name, and everybody called him Babe.
After an impressive showing in the International League, Babe and the rest of the Oriole team were
put up for sale. The Boston Red Sox bought Babe and he saw his first major league action on July
11,1914, as he took the mound against the Cleveland Naps. Babe ended up winning the game 4 3 after
pitching seven innings and letting up only three runs on five hits. The Red Sox sent
Ruth to the International League to play on the Providence team, to get some more experience. At
Providence, Ruth had a record of 11 wins and 2 loses. On
September 5, Ruth won a game 9 0, only letting up one hit, but more significantly he hit his first and
only minor league home run.
The Red Sox brought Ruth back up after the Providence team won the pennant and Ruth pitched in
one game without decision. While in Boston, Ruth almost always went to Landers coffee shop and his
usual waitress was a girl named Helen Woodford. During breakfast one morning Ruth looked up at
Helen and said, How about you and me getting married, hon? After thinking it over for a couple of
minutes, Helen accepted his proposal. After the baseball season,
Babe and Helen got married in St. Paul s Church, Ellicott City, Maryland, on
October 17,1914. Helen Woodford Ruth stayed out of the public

The Revolving Door

¬¬¬¬¬The Effects of the Revolving Door
For five years, Mr. Larry Lavender served as the chief of staff for Representative Spencer Bachus on
the House Financial Services Committee. In 2012, Lavender was recruited by a law firm representing
JPMorgan, a banking and financial institution, and left the committee. Although this move disbanded
his professional link to Bachus, the two still maintained a personal relationship, and Lavender also
communicated with former colleagues without seeking any official favors or actions (Revolving
Door). Because of the relationship between Lavender and Bachus and through efforts made behind the
scenes, JPMorgan avoided testifying against one of their clients in the House of Representatives. This
sequence of events illustrates what is referred to as the revolving door , which is a system that shuffles
former federal employees into jobs as lobbyists, consultants and strategists . In this system, former
public office holders become lobbyists because they already have relationships with people they have
worked with or for in the past. Within the practice, there has been evidence of corruption through the
manipulation of bans and the undermining use of professional interactions. The spinning of the
revolving door prompts government officials to make laws that reflect the preferences of industry
lobbies rather than the will of the people As the revolving door continues to spin more

The Worst Recession Of The United States
At the end of the 20th century, it was clear that the United States national economy was on a incline.
The U.S began winning the worldwide arms race, holding 50% of the world weapons stockpile
(Taylor 10). Capitalism, the main trademark of the United States economy, spread like a wildfire
across the majority of the world (Taylor 10). To the uneducated ear, news like this sounds great; the
United States is slowly taking over the world. However, this insane growth was actually poising the
U.S. for an extreme downfall in the coming years of the early 21st century. The major downfall would
come to be known as the worst recession in our history since the infamous Great Depression. While
there are several speculated causes to the recession of 2007, one cause that stands out is the housing
bubble burst. As the housing bubble burst and trillions of dollars worth of toxic mortgages began to go
bad in 2007, fear spread through the massive firms that form the heart of Wall Street ( Meltdown ) .
The first repercussions of the housing bubble bursting were the floating rumors about the investment
bank, Bear Stearns. The rumors of the bank s imminent bankruptcy were so abundant, that they
became a self fulfilling prophecy ( Meltdown ). In an attempt to save the bank, Federal Reserve
Chairman Ben Bernanke created a deal with JPMorgan ( Meltdown ). This deal stated that the federal
government would use $30 billion to cover Bear Stearns questionable assets tied to toxic mortgages

Examples Of Altruism In The Movie The Hobbit

Does Altruism Exist?
In many movies and shows there are an abundant acts of selfless altruism. Altruism is a selfless act
that someone does without asking for anything in return. An example of altruism in a movie is The
Hobbit . In this movie, the hero helps someone in need without expecting anything in return. In a
movie like the Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, who is the main character, journeys with the dwarf king to help
his kingdom in need. Knowing he could be brutally killed in a face of a battle or by the dragon. His act
of selfless altruism even saves someone life. Altruism exist and movie like this is simply reflect the
alterium we practice in real world.
The philosopher, Thomas Hobbes, believes that people do good things because it makes them feel
good not because they are trying to do a good deed for something in return. Hobbes might say that
Bilbo Baggins only helps others because he would have felt bad if he did not. Therefore, Hobbes
would say that altruism does not exist in this movie. Another philosopher, Joseph Butler, disagree with
Hobbes. He believes that humans do good deeds because they have an inner sense of benevolence. He
might suggest that Bilbo Baggins s does have altruism. My view is that is that Bilbo Baggins show a
behavior of altruism not because he just simply felt good after doing it. He did it because it is a good
thing to do.
According to Samir Okasha, a biologist from Stanford, altruism comes from our human biology.
Altruism also exists all around us and in many species. Individuals can gain so much from the act of
altruism. Okaska suggest that people do carry a gene to be altruism it exist within us all. Within
human beings we have a biological need to survive. The reason altruism exist is so we all can have a
chance of survival. Selfishness exist in order to increase the chance of an individual to survive.
According to Scott, Selfishness does not do well at the between group level, because it harms the
group s chances of survival. This is why we have organized groups who tend have the authority to
punishment mechanisms like prisons or exile to prevent freeloading or other selfish behavior (Suttie).
My view is that people

Essay On Frankenstein Perspective
Point of view and perspective are very influential tools. Seeing different perspectives can change
another person or observer s perspective. Thoughts and experiences influence perspective heavily. We
can see this in our political climate, in psychology, and the way people treat one another based on their
experiences, thoughts, and previous actions. This carries on to Frankenstein is the excerpt; he has a
very heavily varied perspective than those of the villagers , and there is a distinct difference in
thought. Readers learn the thoughts going through Frankenstein s mind, as well as his good deeds,
actions, and curiosity with a will to learn and discover. If the story were to be told from the point of
view of a villager, it would probably be very negative and completely different to Frankenstein s
perspective.
Actions are very important in telling what something or someone is like. Future actions can be
estimated by someone s previous actions; actions usually reflect the character and personality of
someone. Positive actions are almost always associated with a good hearted, positive person, and
negative actions usually correspond with wretched, wicked, fearful, hateful, and negative people.
These staples of action and character seem to apply to Frankenstein as well. In paragraphs 4 6, he
discovers that the family he usually observes suffers from poverty. What s amazing is that when he
heard and understood this, he refrained from taking their food again. For a monster who

Impact Of John Woolman On African American Abolitionists
The Philadelphia Quakers are an extremely religious organization who actively practice what they
preach. The one thing the Quakers believed strongly in was equality for all, but they did not always
believe owning slaves was a sinful act. Scholars such as Aptheker, Cole, Glickman, Houston, and
Newman, all believe that John Woolman was the main and most important Quaker abolitionist that
applied his religious views to introduce the idea that slavery went against Quaker s Christian religion.
There are also two other main Quaker abolitionists that fought alongside Woolman, and all three left a
significant impact on the Quaker society. Why is Woolman considered the main abolitionist who got
people to follow him and change their views on slavery? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Woolman is the first and most important Quaker to start the Abolitionists among the Quaker
society. Evidence proves that he was the first Quaker to speak up about the Quaker s religion and
owning slaves. He is the one that had the idea that slavery is anti Christian and should end the sinful
act. Two other major abolitionists gravitated towards Woolman because they agreed with his beliefs.
Another scholarly debate is when Quakers started taking the role as abolitionists. Evidence supports
that any of the main events such as the meeting, published writings, and other followers, would be the
main start. It only makes sense to start from the beginning at the meeting. When Woolman spoke up
about his views, it was the spark that started the domino effect. The published writings and the other
followers played a very important role, without those things then the abolition movement might not
have had such a huge impacted on society. With all three of these combined, it lead to the Quakers
believing that slavery is a corrupt and an immoral act upon the human race that should be

The Holistic Approach Of Education
The conceptual map, figure: 2.2 provides the summary of this discretion in a schematic form.
The Holistic Approach in Education Holistic education stands clear that learners, need a wide range of
skills to transform their lives, and that of others around them. Certainly educating children is not a
matter of flooding the market needs and fulfillment. According to Singh (2007), in the progressive
changing world, learners need the capability to deal with the indeterminable future. In point of fact, a
conventional wisdom pinpoints that a holistic education approach tackles all aspects of human
challenges (p. 107) in life. Then, he went on to ask, whether an education, support learners to create
capability, a useful key factor for the reconstruction of any country. The education system, scarcely
provides learners for instance, with skills for commendable eating habit. That, in turn leads to the
other question, of how often the education offers learners with the knowledge of avoiding the
consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drug that may ruin their health (Singh, 2007). A few
aforementioned examples represent a segment of problems among others that children face daily, but
not offered in their learning process. Schools should not create receivers of fresh ideas, as a substitute,
instead support learners to ask questions in their learning process. Singh (2007) continues to argue that
education should support learners in the creation of strong body and mind for thinking,

Examples Of Hierarchy In Dante s Inferno
1) How are medieval ideas about the Great Chain of Being expressed in The Inferno? Give at least two
specific examples from Dante s poem and explain how each fits into the medieval idea of hierarchy.
The Great Chain of Being is a belief that all living things are in a hierarchal order. At the very top of
this chain is God himself. He is outside the confines of the natural world and thus represents the
creator of this great chain. In this belief, every living thing has a place within the universe and is
categorized in a stringent order. Dante borrows ideas from this belief in his comedy called the Inferno.
In the Inferno, Dante describes hell as having levels or degrees in a specific order. The order of the
levels is based on the wickedness of the sin that was committed by the individuals held captive there.
Two examples of this hierarchal structure is demonstrated in the following ... Show more content on

Advertisement Advertisements For Women s Advertising
KEEP IT REAL JUST FOR ONCE
Nowadays, companies spend billions of dollars in search of customers for the companies products. As
a result, the necessity of target advertising can t be underestimated. After all, women had no reason to
purchase a $50000 necklace until Pandora proposed the tagline, your jewelry isn t just jewelry, in its
latest advertisement in Cosmopolitan Magazine (Pandora. Cosmopolitan). In that regard, modern
advertisements paint a stereotypical image of an ideal woman as the classy being, appareled in
artificial, perhaps fake, beauty. If it s not the glossy pink or red lips, then it ll either be the artificial eye

While advertisements attempt to convince us that all women are supposed to look pretty, be looked at
and be seductive, in reality, this is unwarranted. As careful analysis of three ads targeting at women in

besmirched the ideologies about women s prototype by stereotypically exaggerating the relevance of
physical beauty in them. Moreover, such unfair portrayer is proven, on several bases, to be detrimental

Character Analysis Of The Movie Still Alice
The movie Still Alice takes place in New York and is about a very well known linguistics professor
who gets diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer s. At the beginning of the movie we see her at the very
beginning stages of her diagnosis. Her symptoms started off very minor. For example, when she gives
her speech at UCLA we see that she ends up forgetting what she s trying to say and ultimately loses
her train of thought. We also see her start to forget words as well as get lost when she goes for a jog.
At that point in time, Alice decides that she needs to see a doctor because she thinks she has a brain
tumor. The doctor decides that a MRI is necessary to find out what exactly was going on. At this point
in the movie, Alice has not told anyone about what has been going on with her memory or about going

already met her son s girlfriend. Therefore, her memory is continuing to deteriorate. After Christmas
she goes back to the neurologist where she finds out that she needs to do a PET due to the doctor
being concerned about her memory problems. At this time, she decides to tell her husband what is

Pros And Cons In Consumer Food
As a consumer, every day I choose what I eat, drink, and otherwise put inside me. For the most part I
read the labels on the packaging, looking for things like sodium and caloric intake per serving,
whether or not what I m about to eat contains nuts or anything else that I have a mild allergy to. What
I don t see on my labels are notices of the use of GMO s, which have become prevalent in consumer
food but are never mentioned unless to say that a product does not contain GMO s. Are we to believe
that any food that does not specifically brand itself as a healthy non GMO alternative to be partly
made in a lab? This is simply not the case, though a good percentage of goods found in a grocery store
either contain GMO s or have in some way benefited from GMO use. GMO s are unavoidable in this
day in age, despite a culture of disdain and fear has developed due to the failures of big corporations
to properly address the fears of the more cautious. As a consumer, we have the right to know and
control that which we consume. The right to control what we consume is a basic human right, and not
being made aware of the use of GMO s impinges on that right. Even if the average person can not
fully understand what GMO s are or what purpose they serve in the food they eat, they still should be

Analysis Of Aaron Burr And Alexander Hamilton
The Oval Office symbolizes the government whenever public judgement casts the governmental
system in negative or positive light. Arguably, every presidential administration becomes marked by
the supposed corruption that lies within it, for the office is considered the Room Where It Happens
(Miranda and McCarter 186). In homage to the times of exclusion and inclusion of Aaron Burr and
Alexander Hamilton in this room during the founding father s era of government, Hamilton: The
Revolution, by Lin Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter, states that [one] feel[s] like [one has] been
Burr [..] as many times as [one has] been Hamilton (264). Nevertheless, as Miranda identifies to a
greater degree with Hamilton because of his rags to riches record, my ideologies gravitate towards
Burr from experiences in a culture where failure is condemned. Moreover, the eventual vilification of
Burr for his role in Hamilton s demise versus Hamilton s martyrdom for his reckless abandon leads me
to identify more with Burr as a victim of fallacious antagonization than Hamilton as an erroneous
martyr based on a single precept: one s reputation stems from a series of public judgements void of
consideration on individual detriment. Dominance acts as a form of dopamine to man s brain: it gives
man satisfaction from superiority and control over supposedly inferior beings. While Hamilton, the
immigrant with a lack of wealth and family, climbs up the echelons of the societal ladder, Burr is

Of the 26 million animals used, 95% of those animals are small rodents, birds, and fish (Listland). Not
many higher mammals are used, making this okay in their eyes. Their biggest support for how they
feel on this topic are facts that make animal testing look ethical and not as bad, just how the following
fact states. The human population of the United States eats about 9 billion chickens each year or more
than 340 chickens for each animal used in research. (listland). This quote shows not many of our
animals are being tested on even though 26 million may seem like a large number. In reality, though,
we are eating more than we are testing on and the little ones we are testing on won t make any
difference any way, they can reproduce just fine. Many people have argued over this fact, but a
question always pops up and never seems to be solved. Why is it okay for even the little number of
animals to be tested on? The small animals such as birds, fish, and mice have a right to live their lives
and just because they re small it doesn t lessen their importance or tell whether it is okay for them to

Symptoms And Treatment Of Urinary Tract Infection
Pyelonephritis is the inflammation of the kidney that is mostly caused by a bacterial infection, which
leads to scarring of the kidney. It is a form of a urinary tract infection (UTI) one instance may lead to
substantial renal damage, kidney failure, abscess formation, sepsis, septic shock, and the failure of
multiple organs. The infection typically begins in the urethra or bladder and travels up into the
kidneys, where it could potentially harm the organs and even the life of the infected individual.
Although bacteria usually reach the kidney by rising from the lower urinary tract, it may also reach the
kidney through the bloodstream.
The incidence of pyelonephritis is approximately 12 13 cases yearly per 10,000 people in females ...

The fever is not always evident, but when it there is present, the infected individual s temperature can
exceed 103°F (39.4°C). Nausea and/or vomiting differ in terms of frequency and intensity, and can
range from nonexistent to severe. In fact, it is not uncommon for patients with pyelonephritis to
experience anorexia.
Signs of acute pyelonephritis typically develop over hours or over the duration of a day, but may not
occur simultaneously. The infection is considered complicated until confirmed otherwise if either of
these criteria are met:
Patient is male
Elderly
A child, or
Patient has had symptoms for more than 7 days
Antibiotic therapy is critical in the management of acute pyelonephritis and stops the progression of
infection. Urine culture and subsequent sensitivity testing should always be done, and empirical
treatment should be customized to the infecting uropathogen.

The Ethics Of Care Ethics
Care Ethics (Feminist Ethics) is the importance of caring relationships in life whether its human or
animal related. The main goal of care ethics is to maintain and promote caring relationships. Care
ethics involves helping both yourself and the world around you. It gives you the motivation to care for
others beside yourself. Care ethics according to the article is more a general approach than a theory in
regards to other ethical practices. The goal of care ethics is to show that women have the same equal
rights as men and that they both have freedoms of their own. This is important as this is helping to
address equality among the human race. Care ethics as a whole revolves around emotions.
Care ethic believers preach that having emotions helps you to think and feel for others. The goal in
emotions is to focus on the wants and needs of the one being cared for. They believe through this they
can relate to others in their needs. An example that the article gives is the mother child relationship. If
a child wants something to eat, the mother of that child knows best what the child needs. This is due to
the caring motherly nature that mothers have. Also, caring helps to motivate us to tend to those, even
if we are exhausted, and angry. The difference between care ethics and utilitarianism is that utilitarian
s do not believe that emotions are helping them to choose right or wrong in any situation. They believe
that through calculations, they can

The Benefits Of New Media And Technology
What is the self in the digital age? One might say that their true online self is on Facebook, or
MySpace, or maybe Instagram. The splintering of the self into multiple versions illustrates a desire to
see what one can be online. Truly, new media and technology has allowed one to find their true inner
self, whether that reflect their real self in real life or not. Yet, not everyone sees these disparate selves
with optimism. Sherry Turkle and Natasha Schüll see the growth of new media and technology as
detrimental to the formation of our true selves and both critically analyze specific cases where it can
be harmful. I, however, disagree with the sentiment that new media and technology is something
inherently harmful. Although they can certainly be misused, the benefits of these digital innovations
can, when applied with critical understanding, outweigh the negatives brought up by Turkle and
Schüll. First, Turkle argues that social media is preventing adolescents from dedicating time to self
reflection and replacing face to face communication with online communication. Turkle states in her
book, Alone Together, that teens need time to discover themselves, time to think. But technology, put
in the service of always on communication and telegraphic speed and brevity, has changed the rules of
engagement with all of this. Here, Turkle state that since social media is easily accessible and
immediate, teenagers will be compelled to interact online, instead of taking the

How Does Saving Affect The Economy
CHAPTER 1
AN INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
1.1 Statement of the Research Problem
Consumption and saving play an important role in the world economy and what determines
consumption and saving is income. As Keynes pointed out, When individuals are saving their money,
they are actually hurting the economy because saving reduces aggregate demand and thus reduces
company revenue . From this study, it is seen that one s expenditure becomes another s income. On the
other hand, saving is also important because of future consumption which has to be maintained for
meeting any kind of emergency or to be able to face any level of risks and uncertainties. For this very
reason precautionary saving has become very essential for migrants since migrants face higher risks
and uncertainties than the local people who do not have to worry so much about their future.
In today s scenario, the study shows that with increase in migration, there is an increase in the total
spending within the economy which leads to an increase in the supply of labour and increase in
demand. Therefore, an increase in spending within the economy brings about an increase in the GDP.
Generally individuals or households look at the prices of the products and the quality before making a
purchase because price of commodities determines their consumption behaviour. How much they save
depends on how much they earn and how much they consume. Consumption and saving behaviour
differ from place to place. A person

Essay on Medical Marijuana Should Be Legal
The right to use marijuana for optional medical treatment has been a long drawn out battle between
the U.S. Federal Government and the people petitioning for its therapeutic uses. The history on the use
of marijuana (also known as cannabis) has been a big deterrent on legalizing this type of drug today.
The controversy stems from the medical and legal implications that the U.S. Federal Government has
towards the use of marijuana. Others controversies are associated to petitions filed to re classifying
marijuana (a controlled substance) for optional medical treatment. Furthermore, there are conflicts that
pertain with the intervention of the U.S. Federal Government preventing patients the use of prescribed

The U.S. Federal Government has complete control on regulating all (legal or illegal) drugs based on
the effectiveness in therapeutic values and the benefits obtained in medical treatment. The government
has established safety precautions for the protection of the public s health under departmental
supervision. The development of each new drug and the potential value of a drug in medical treatment
are regulated by the Department of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (Jill 278). Through
scientific research and clinical trials it is the decision of the FDA whether to approve these new drugs
for the purpose of effective treatment (Joy 138). Under the U.S. Controlled Substance Act , the FDA
classifies each type of drug under certain categories. The drugs are categorized based on the potential
abuse (addiction) and the effectiveness that the drugs have in beneficial values of treatment. The types
of classifications are: Schedule I drug high potential for abuse and no recognized medical use ;
Schedule II drug potential for abuse but are prescribable because of their therapeutic effects ; and
Schedule III drug potential for abuse lower than that of schedule I or II drugs . The classifications of
all drugs are strictly regulated by the U.S. Federal Government and are enforced by the U.S. Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) (Kane 1159 60). This is a good thing our government has

The Life Of Eleanor Roosevelt Essay
The Life of Eleanor Roosevelt Compared to Jill Petrasek Eleanor Roosevelt was a remarkable woman
who was incomparable because of how much she had wanted to change the world. She had helped
society take action by fighting for equality between all women and men, blacks and white, and many
more things that she had believed in. Eleanor Roosevelt had a hard life when growing up due to the
fact that his mom had died when Eleanor was at young age (Ellwood 6). This had made her have to
move in with her grandparents, which meant that it would be harder to keep in contact with her father
because he was not with her (Ellwood 6). Eleanor and her father were still able to keep in contact due
to the fact that they wrote letters to each other frequently (Ellwood 6). This in fact had helped Eleaner
to grow due to the fact that her dad had told her to work hard, and be instructable to the outside world.
The letters had halted at the age of ten because her father had passed away (Ellwood 6). The fact that
her dad had passed away made her feel like she had no one to talk to which made her feel lonely
(Ellwood 6). After Eleanor s father s passing she became sheepish and reserved to the outside world
until she had meet a teacher by the name of Ms. Souvestre who showed her to be confident and how
smart she really was (Ellwood 9). Souvestre had also advised Eleanor to always say what was on her
mind and stand up for what was right and what she believed even if there were extreme

Compare And Contrast The Manifest Destiny And Territorial...
Manifest destiny and territorial expansion unified the United States from 1830 to 1860 by the means
of creating a sense of safety and peace, increasing the content on the American population, and aided
the economy. Thomas Hart Benton wrote of how more people are moving from Missouri to Oregon,
and promising them that the Government will assist them in doing so by granting them protection and
land. (Document A). This demonstrates how the Government supported the expansion of the United
States, providing protection to those embarking on the journey. President James Polk also spoke of
safety by saying that Texas, as an independent state, is a danger the safety and future peace of the U.S
. (Document F). This shows that annexing Texas kept Americans safe and America a peaceful place.
An editor at the New York Sun wrote of how expanding to the west would also positively impact
places like Mexico as it would bring liberty, safety, and prosperity to them. (Document H) This would,
in turn, also impact the Americans by bringing them peace due to the reduction of conflict with
Mexico. Thus, the manifest destiny and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Senator Thomas Corwin of Ohio supported expanding to California because he believed that people
should be allowed to go wherever makes them happy, and if that happens to be California, then that is

Texas would improve slave conditions. Thus, they will be happier and, in turn, so will be the rest of
the American population. Which would also promote peace throughout the nation. (Document C).
Additionally, by expanding to Texas, the population of slaves would remain balanced, and they would
receive the appropriate accommodations for their manual services. Thus, the quality of living

Jane Austen Persuasion Analysis
Austen s creative energies all of her life. In this particular novel, most is based on character Anne
Elliots love life, she had been too dependent on time alone; no aid had been given in change of place,
(Austen 109). Persuasion, like Austen s other novels, was praised for its realistic depiction of character
and society in the time written. In her introduction to the Signet publication, Margaret Drabble praises
its strong anti romantic tendencies, its unexpected generosities, and its welcoming of the possibility of
a new order. (World Literature Criticism). These scholars have helped cement the novel s reputation as
a literary classic. Adding on, its romance parts create a strong base of the mood of the story. In
Chapter seven, Anne Elliot describes, actually looking round, ready to fall in love with all the speed
which a clear head and quick taste could allow, (Austen 154). She had no change of thought in who
she wanted throughout the entire novel. In life, she is referring to how it looks to be rather than how it
actually is in the many ups and downs you go through before finding your true love.
In conclusion, these professionals that have criticised not only Persuasion, but many other novels of
Jane Austen s work, have created an image for her novels. Previously stated, many of her books are
based on love and marriage, which meant the most to her.

Comparing Chinese Imagery And Art
The Neolithic Period, tracing back as early as 10,000 BC, where evidence of pottery making appears

The Chinese people s progression with stone and pottery developed drastically in the Qin Dynasty.
The Qin Dynasty followed the Zhou Dynasty and it was during this period that the Great Wall of
China was established. The ruler Qin Shihuangdi is credited with building the Great Wall of China by
uniting several preexisting defensive walls (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2015). These pre
existing walls were less significant clay walls built by individually established towns near to the
border. Some sources state that the wall was for defensive purposes but some also say that the Great
Wall speaks well for a growth in the mixed soil of peace and war. It stands for some power, an
unbeatable power despite all bitter conditions, known as the Great Wall Spirit among Chinese people
(Great Wall Web Site, 2015), meaning that the wall didn t just represent defence, but it was a much
more beautiful and well composed symbol of peace for the Chinese people. The wall was also a
landmark for the architecture of the period. The same ruler is responsible for the creation of the
Terracotta Army , its construction occurred as the ruler desired a tomb guarded by an army. The army
consisted of over 7,000 pottery soldiers, horses, chariots, and even weapons (TravelChinaGuide,
2015).

Voodoo And Caribbean Religion
Voodoo and Caribbean Religions
The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods is
what is defined as Religion. In many religions text is believed to have scriptural status and moral
authority. In some religions like Voodoo, there are no moral authority or text. It is a community
centered around individual experiences, empowerment, and responsibility and is practiced by people
who are imperfect and may use religion for their own purposes. It is a religion that originates from
Africa. Voodoo is thought to be a various combination of African, Catholic, and Native traditions. The
goal of Voodoo is to serve the Spirits (sevi lwa) offering prayers and numerous devotional rites to God
and other spirits for health, favor, and protection. Spirit possession plays an important role in this
religion. It is an oral tradition that is practiced by extended families that inherit familial spirits and
devotional practices by elders. The forms of Voodoo practiced today are the results of one of the most
inhumane episodes in modern history: The African Slave Trade between the 16th and 19th century.
When Africans were bought here to America they bought Voodoo with them. During slavery an
underground religion (voodoo) started to emerge among slaves. It was a combination of African
religious traditions with elements of Catholicism. Many of the early Voodoo priest came from a
Muslim background. During slave times, Voodoo equaled revolt. To

Sustained Release Analysis
Time released supplements are dissolved slowly and deliver a steady amount of vitamins over a period
of time. Sustained release has a longer half life and produces stable levels of the vitamin throughout
the day (Cascade, Kalali, Weisler, 2008). They are enteric coated, which protects them from being
digested in the stomach. They contain tiny pellets of the vitamin, each individually coated so that their
contents are steadily released overtime (United States Pharmacopeia, 2012).
Extended release is designed to prolong absorption of vitamins with shorter half lives. This allows for
longer dosing intervals and decreases fluctuations in serum levels (Perucca, 2009). One example is

About one third of every community experiences some sort of gang violence (Tucker). Although, it

Gang violence among teens has become more prevalent in today s society. For example, during the
summer of 2017 in Lancaster South Carolina, five teenagers were murdered by other teens in gang
affiliated behaviors. Thus, resulting in imprisonment. The question is how we punish these teens.
Should they receive the death penalty for committing an act of murder? Or should they spend the rest
of their lives in prison with a chance of being released back into society. What is the value of their

Philosopher Michel Foucault s work Discipline and Punish speaks about the changes punishment and
discipline have taken. Punishment has always been used to discourage criminals from unlawful acts.
In the beginning, punishment was aimed at the body through things like corporal punishment. Now
with prison systems in place, the aim is at what Foucault calls the soul . Foucault questions if these
new methods of punishment and discipline are indeed affective.
Commonly the criminals who receive death penalties have committed an act of terrorism, hate crimes,
or murder. There are currently thirty one states in which the death penalty is legalized, including South
Carolina. In the state of South Carolina, by law, a person receives the death penalty when murder is
committed with one of twelve aggravating circumstances. A person who is convicted of or pleads
guilty to murder must be punished by death, or by a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment for
thirty years to life. If the State seeks the death penalty and a statutory aggravating circumstance is
found beyond a reasonable doubt pursuant to subsections (B) and (C), and a recommendation of death
is not made, the trial judge must impose a sentence of life imprisonment ( Code of Laws ).
The support for and against the death penalty is equally weighted. Those who are for the death penalty
say that it creates both specific and general deterrence. Deterrence is the action of discouraging an
action or event

Anti Whaling Research Paper
I totally disagree with the Norwegian and Japanese position on permitting the hunting of non
endangered species of whales as a cultural exemption, because first of whaling or hunting is cruelty,
we should not have to kill animals, which can get disappeared after a while. Even though they call it a
research, hundreds of whales per year could not be hunted. In Japan, they say that, they had a tradition
of whaling, but not all traditions are good, I mean killing whales could not be a good tradition. There
are many bad traditions in the world people were doing without knowledge, but the governments or
some organizations are working to prevent it. I believe that, this is one of the bad traditions of our
world.
No, I do not think the whaling ban constitutes a violation of these nation s sovereignty, because it only

whales which may be hunted per year, and commands on which seasons of the year will whaling be

What I really love about Comcast NBC is that they obtain the broadcasting rights to marquee sporting
events. This is where they defer from different broadcasting corporations. Comcast NBC focus on
sporting events such as the Kentucky Derby, NHL games when they are played outdoors, Indy Car
racing, and the Olympics. Outside of the NFL NBC does not obtain the broadcasting rights to the
NBA or the MLB where there are frequent games played. So when you combine the hallmark sporting
events with primetime NFL broadcast it makes for a great business decision. People in North America
love football and broadcasting events that are scarce makes the viewership rating go up. I have
wondered why NBC has not made a competitive bid lately for the NBA or MLB but after evaluating
their company it makes perfect sense.NBCUniversal was also another great expansion to their
company but broadcasting on a global stage to reach customers all around the world. Another
evaluation I have made with NBC comcast was how important the Olympics are to them.NBC loves
broadcasting the olympics because the viewership is global which leads to huge profits. Comcast NBC
is a great company who is expanding their horizons on a daily basis to make their company more

  • 2. The Ottoman Of The Byzantine Empire The Byzantine army was a very large and successful army that brought the Byzantine Empire into the middle ages. The army flourished because of their new developments in warfare, and their organized battle tactics. The fall of the Byzantine Empire was due to the Ottoman Turks, who had been pushing borders constantly. The Byzantine Empire never had complete military peace throughout their entire 1000 years. This lead to several influential developments in their civilization. Through this paper, I will discuss various types of troops and formations that the Byzantine Army used for many years as well as the overall organization. After the fall of Rome, and due to Diocletian s efforts, the land was split up into two parts, East, and West. The western part was claimed by the Goth s and other enemies. A city in the eastern part of the territory called Byzantium was reclaimed by the people inhabiting the area, mainly Greeks. The civilization of Byzantium was formed as a result. Constantine the Great, an Emperor of the Roman Empire made a city in Eastern Rome called Constantinople (now known as Istanbul), and this city later became the capital of the Byzantine Empire, as well as the capital of ancient Christianity. In the early days of the Empire, the Byzantine army was still fighting in the old, Roman ways. Their strategies were not working well, as they had too much land to govern from one location. Their military was small, because they did not have enough money from tax, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My first evaluation was in terms of my goal that was to participate and plan an event to tell a story for the client. The tangible evidence I stated that I would submit will be documentation of the process of planning the event along with photos and outcomes of the event through social media. My second evaluation was connected to my goal of connecting and working with specific influencers on a personal level. I said that my tangible evidence would include documentation of meetings along with emails and notes for the steps of the project that we were working on with a client. ... A case study was something we had to create for the client before and after an event. This would also help us in knowing what is best for the future and what went wrong during the event. Before the event we would have a case study that consisted of digital pictures and examples of what the venue would look like, and then the one after the event that would have pictures of the event, the food and possibly review of the events. Another piece of documentation was the big project I worked on throughout all 3 months at my internship. This was an excel sheet of about 2,000 brands, throughout my weeks at BMF I searched for the right personal contacts for these brands so we could reach out to them. Some other evidence I have is notes that I had to take from every call that I sat in on with clients. I also have some power points of venue options; this is a PowerPoint for events that we had to look for the perfect venue. Everybody knows how great a hitter Babe was and how he virtually invented the home run. Not everybody knows how great of a pitcher Babe was, even though he was one of the best left handed pitchers of all time. Babe had a 92 and 44 record, 67.6%, and a 2.24 career earned run average in 163 games pitched. Not many career .342 hitters that averaged a home run every 11.8 at bats can say that. After an impressive showing in the International League, Babe and the rest of the Oriole team were put up for sale. The Boston Red Sox bought Babe and he saw his first major league action on July 11,1914, as he took the mound against the Cleveland Naps. Babe ended up winning the game 4 3 after pitching seven innings and letting up only three runs on five hits. The Red Sox sent Ruth to the International League to play on the Providence team, to get some more experience. At Providence, Ruth had a record of 11 wins and 2 loses. On September 5, Ruth won a game 9 0, only letting up one hit, but more significantly he hit his first and only minor league home run. The Red Sox brought Ruth back up after the Providence team won the pennant and Ruth pitched in one game without decision. While in Boston, Ruth almost always went to Landers coffee shop and his usual waitress was a girl named Helen Woodford. During breakfast one morning Ruth looked up at Helen and said, How about you and me getting married, hon? After thinking it over for a couple of minutes, Helen accepted his proposal. • 6. The Revolving Door Amanda Stevenson Dr. Woodiwiss PO 101 11 December 2015 ¬¬¬¬¬The Effects of the Revolving Door For five years, Mr. Larry Lavender served as the chief of staff for Representative Spencer Bachus on the House Financial Services Committee. In 2012, Lavender was recruited by a law firm representing JPMorgan, a banking and financial institution, and left the committee. Although this move disbanded his professional link to Bachus, the two still maintained a personal relationship, and Lavender also communicated with former colleagues without seeking any official favors or actions (Revolving Door). Because of the relationship between Lavender and Bachus and through efforts made behind the scenes, JPMorgan avoided testifying against one of their clients in the House of Representatives. This sequence of events illustrates what is referred to as the revolving door , which is a system that shuffles former federal employees into jobs as lobbyists, consultants and strategists . In this system, former public office holders become lobbyists because they already have relationships with people they have worked with or for in the past. Within the practice, there has been evidence of corruption through the manipulation of bans and the undermining use of professional interactions. The spinning of the revolving door prompts government officials to make laws that reflect the preferences of industry lobbies rather than the will of the people As the revolving door continues to spin more ... • 8. The Worst Recession Of The United States At the end of the 20th century, it was clear that the United States national economy was on a incline. The U.S began winning the worldwide arms race, holding 50% of the world weapons stockpile (Taylor 10). Capitalism, the main trademark of the United States economy, spread like a wildfire across the majority of the world (Taylor 10). To the uneducated ear, news like this sounds great; the United States is slowly taking over the world. However, this insane growth was actually poising the U.S. for an extreme downfall in the coming years of the early 21st century. The major downfall would come to be known as the worst recession in our history since the infamous Great Depression. While there are several speculated causes to the recession of 2007, one cause that stands out is the housing bubble burst. As the housing bubble burst and trillions of dollars worth of toxic mortgages began to go bad in 2007, fear spread through the massive firms that form the heart of Wall Street ( Meltdown ) . The first repercussions of the housing bubble bursting were the floating rumors about the investment bank, Bear Stearns. The rumors of the bank s imminent bankruptcy were so abundant, that they became a self fulfilling prophecy ( Meltdown ). In an attempt to save the bank, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke created a deal with JPMorgan ( Meltdown ). • 9. Examples Of Altruism In The Movie The Hobbit Ishwari Tamang Alec Julien Philosophy 12/12/17 Does Altruism Exist? In many movies and shows there are an abundant acts of selfless altruism. Altruism is a selfless act that someone does without asking for anything in return. An example of altruism in a movie is The Hobbit . In this movie, the hero helps someone in need without expecting anything in return. In a movie like the Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, who is the main character, journeys with the dwarf king to help his kingdom in need. Knowing he could be brutally killed in a face of a battle or by the dragon. His act of selfless altruism even saves someone life. Altruism exist and movie like this is simply reflect the alterium we practice in real world. The philosopher, Thomas Hobbes, believes that people do good things because it makes them feel good not because they are trying to do a good deed for something in return. Hobbes might say that Bilbo Baggins only helps others because he would have felt bad if he did not. Therefore, Hobbes would say that altruism does not exist in this movie. Another philosopher, Joseph Butler, disagree with Hobbes. He believes that humans do good deeds because they have an inner sense of benevolence. He might suggest that Bilbo Baggins s does have altruism. My view is that is that Bilbo Baggins show a behavior of altruism not because he just simply felt good after doing it. He did it because it is a good thing to do. According to Samir Okasha, a biologist from Stanford, altruism comes from our human biology. Altruism also exists all around us and in many species. Individuals can gain so much from the act of altruism. Okaska suggest that people do carry a gene to be altruism it exist within us all. Within human beings we have a biological need to survive. The reason altruism exist is so we all can have a chance of survival. Selfishness exist in order to increase the chance of an individual to survive. According to Scott, Selfishness does not do well at the between group level, because it harms the group s chances of survival. This is why we have organized groups who tend have the authority to punishment mechanisms like prisons or exile to prevent freeloading or other selfish behavior (Suttie). My view is that people ... • 11. Essay On Frankenstein Perspective Point of view and perspective are very influential tools. Seeing different perspectives can change another person or observer s perspective. Thoughts and experiences influence perspective heavily. We can see this in our political climate, in psychology, and the way people treat one another based on their experiences, thoughts, and previous actions. This carries on to Frankenstein is the excerpt; he has a very heavily varied perspective than those of the villagers , and there is a distinct difference in thought. Readers learn the thoughts going through Frankenstein s mind, as well as his good deeds, actions, and curiosity with a will to learn and discover. If the story were to be told from the point of view of a villager, it would probably be very negative and completely different to Frankenstein s perspective. Actions are very important in telling what something or someone is like. Future actions can be estimated by someone s previous actions; actions usually reflect the character and personality of someone. Positive actions are almost always associated with a good hearted, positive person, and negative actions usually correspond with wretched, wicked, fearful, hateful, and negative people. These staples of action and character seem to apply to Frankenstein as well. In paragraphs 4 6, he discovers that the family he usually observes suffers from poverty. Why is Woolman considered the main abolitionist who got people to follow him and change their views on slavery? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John Woolman is the first and most important Quaker to start the Abolitionists among the Quaker society. Evidence proves that he was the first Quaker to speak up about the Quaker s religion and owning slaves. He is the one that had the idea that slavery is anti Christian and should end the sinful act. Two other major abolitionists gravitated towards Woolman because they agreed with his beliefs. Another scholarly debate is when Quakers started taking the role as abolitionists. Evidence supports that any of the main events such as the meeting, published writings, and other followers, would be the main start. It only makes sense to start from the beginning at the meeting. When Woolman spoke up about his views, it was the spark that started the domino effect. The published writings and the other followers played a very important role, without those things then the abolition movement might not have had such a huge impacted on society. • 13. The Holistic Approach Of Education The conceptual map, figure: 2.2 provides the summary of this discretion in a schematic form. The Holistic Approach in Education Holistic education stands clear that learners, need a wide range of skills to transform their lives, and that of others around them. Certainly educating children is not a matter of flooding the market needs and fulfillment. According to Singh (2007), in the progressive changing world, learners need the capability to deal with the indeterminable future. In point of fact, a conventional wisdom pinpoints that a holistic education approach tackles all aspects of human challenges (p. 107) in life. Then, he went on to ask, whether an education, support learners to create capability, a useful key factor for the reconstruction of any country. The education system, scarcely provides learners for instance, with skills for commendable eating habit. That, in turn leads to the other question, of how often the education offers learners with the knowledge of avoiding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drug that may ruin their health (Singh, 2007). A few aforementioned examples represent a segment of problems among others that children face daily, but not offered in their learning process. Schools should not create receivers of fresh ideas, as a substitute, instead support learners to ask questions in their learning process. Singh (2007) continues to argue that education should support learners in the creation of strong body and mind for thinking, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Examples Of Hierarchy In Dante s Inferno 1) How are medieval ideas about the Great Chain of Being expressed in The Inferno? Give at least two specific examples from Dante s poem and explain how each fits into the medieval idea of hierarchy. The Great Chain of Being is a belief that all living things are in a hierarchal order. At the very top of this chain is God himself. He is outside the confines of the natural world and thus represents the creator of this great chain. In this belief, every living thing has a place within the universe and is categorized in a stringent order. Dante borrows ideas from this belief in his comedy called the Inferno. In the Inferno, Dante describes hell as having levels or degrees in a specific order. The order of the levels is based on the wickedness of the sin that was committed by the individuals held captive there. Two examples of this hierarchal structure is demonstrated in the following ... • 15. Advertisement Advertisements For Women s Advertising KEEP IT REAL JUST FOR ONCE Nowadays, companies spend billions of dollars in search of customers for the companies products. As a result, the necessity of target advertising can t be underestimated. After all, women had no reason to purchase a $50000 necklace until Pandora proposed the tagline, your jewelry isn t just jewelry, in its latest advertisement in Cosmopolitan Magazine (Pandora. Cosmopolitan). In that regard, modern advertisements paint a stereotypical image of an ideal woman as the classy being, appareled in artificial, perhaps fake, beauty. If it s not the glossy pink or red lips, then it ll either be the artificial eye lashes, the dyed hair, or sexy stare that hangs on the pages of magazines and postal on bill boards. While advertisements attempt to convince us that all women are supposed to look pretty, be looked at and be seductive, in reality, this is unwarranted. As careful analysis of three ads targeting at women in Advertisement Cosmopolitan 2015 indicate, advertisements , in attempt to catch patrons , have besmirched the ideologies about women s prototype by stereotypically exaggerating the relevance of physical beauty in them. Moreover, such unfair portrayer is proven, on several bases, to be detrimental in the long run. One of the most common unfair messages conveyed in women oriented ads is that the physical appearance of women is all that matters. This proposes that without applying makeups, dying ... This is simply not the case, though a good percentage of goods found in a grocery store either contain GMO s or have in some way benefited from GMO use. GMO s are unavoidable in this day in age, despite a culture of disdain and fear has developed due to the failures of big corporations to properly address the fears of the more cautious. As a consumer, we have the right to know and control that which we consume. The right to control what we consume is a basic human right, and not being made aware of the use of GMO s impinges on that right. Even if the average person can not fully understand what GMO s are or what purpose they serve in the food they eat, they still should be made aware of what is in their food. Better yet, by introducing the means to educate the populace on the ways that GMO crops benefit them and the environment, GMO s can become more widely accepted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Analysis Of Aaron Burr And Alexander Hamilton The Oval Office symbolizes the government whenever public judgement casts the governmental system in negative or positive light. Arguably, every presidential administration becomes marked by the supposed corruption that lies within it, for the office is considered the Room Where It Happens (Miranda and McCarter 186). In homage to the times of exclusion and inclusion of Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton in this room during the founding father s era of government, Hamilton: The Revolution, by Lin Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter, states that [one] feel[s] like [one has] been Burr [..] as many times as [one has] been Hamilton (264). Nevertheless, as Miranda identifies to a greater degree with Hamilton because of his rags to riches record, my ideologies gravitate towards Burr from experiences in a culture where failure is condemned. Moreover, the eventual vilification of Burr for his role in Hamilton s demise versus Hamilton s martyrdom for his reckless abandon leads me to identify more with Burr as a victim of fallacious antagonization than Hamilton as an erroneous martyr based on a single precept: one s reputation stems from a series of public judgements void of consideration on individual detriment. Dominance acts as a form of dopamine to man s brain: it gives man satisfaction from superiority and control over supposedly inferior beings. While Hamilton, the immigrant with a lack of wealth and family, climbs up the echelons of the societal ladder, Burr is forced to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. The Ethics Of Care Ethics Care Ethics (Feminist Ethics) is the importance of caring relationships in life whether its human or animal related. The main goal of care ethics is to maintain and promote caring relationships. Care ethics involves helping both yourself and the world around you. It gives you the motivation to care for others beside yourself. Care ethics according to the article is more a general approach than a theory in regards to other ethical practices. The goal of care ethics is to show that women have the same equal rights as men and that they both have freedoms of their own. This is important as this is helping to address equality among the human race. Care ethics as a whole revolves around emotions. Care ethic believers preach that having emotions helps you to think and feel for others. The goal in emotions is to focus on the wants and needs of the one being cared for. They believe through this they can relate to others in their needs. An example that the article gives is the mother child relationship. If a child wants something to eat, the mother of that child knows best what the child needs. This is due to the caring motherly nature that mothers have. Also, caring helps to motivate us to tend to those, even if we are exhausted, and angry. The difference between care ethics and utilitarianism is that utilitarian s do not believe that emotions are helping them to choose right or wrong in any situation. The splintering of the self into multiple versions illustrates a desire to see what one can be online. Truly, new media and technology has allowed one to find their true inner self, whether that reflect their real self in real life or not. Yet, not everyone sees these disparate selves with optimism. Sherry Turkle and Natasha Schüll see the growth of new media and technology as detrimental to the formation of our true selves and both critically analyze specific cases where it can be harmful. I, however, disagree with the sentiment that new media and technology is something inherently harmful. Although they can certainly be misused, the benefits of these digital innovations can, when applied with critical understanding, outweigh the negatives brought up by Turkle and Schüll. First, Turkle argues that social media is preventing adolescents from dedicating time to self reflection and replacing face to face communication with online communication. Turkle states in her book, Alone Together, that teens need time to discover themselves, time to think. But technology, put in the service of always on communication and telegraphic speed and brevity, has changed the rules of engagement with all of this. Here, Turkle state that since social media is easily accessible and immediate, teenagers will be compelled to interact online, instead of taking the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. How Does Saving Affect The Economy CHAPTER 1 AN INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH METHODOLOGY 1.1 Statement of the Research Problem Consumption and saving play an important role in the world economy and what determines consumption and saving is income. As Keynes pointed out, When individuals are saving their money, they are actually hurting the economy because saving reduces aggregate demand and thus reduces company revenue . From this study, it is seen that one s expenditure becomes another s income. On the other hand, saving is also important because of future consumption which has to be maintained for meeting any kind of emergency or to be able to face any level of risks and uncertainties. For this very reason precautionary saving has become very essential for migrants since migrants face higher risks and uncertainties than the local people who do not have to worry so much about their future. In today s scenario, the study shows that with increase in migration, there is an increase in the total spending within the economy which leads to an increase in the supply of labour and increase in demand. Therefore, an increase in spending within the economy brings about an increase in the GDP. Generally individuals or households look at the prices of the products and the quality before making a purchase because price of commodities determines their consumption behaviour. How much they save depends on how much they earn and how much they consume. Consumption and saving behaviour differ from place to place. A person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eleanor Roosevelt had a hard life when growing up due to the fact that his mom had died when Eleanor was at young age (Ellwood 6). This had made her have to move in with her grandparents, which meant that it would be harder to keep in contact with her father because he was not with her (Ellwood 6). Eleanor and her father were still able to keep in contact due to the fact that they wrote letters to each other frequently (Ellwood 6). This in fact had helped Eleaner to grow due to the fact that her dad had told her to work hard, and be instructable to the outside world. In this particular novel, most is based on character Anne Elliots love life, she had been too dependent on time alone; no aid had been given in change of place, (Austen 109). Persuasion, like Austen s other novels, was praised for its realistic depiction of character and society in the time written. In her introduction to the Signet publication, Margaret Drabble praises its strong anti romantic tendencies, its unexpected generosities, and its welcoming of the possibility of a new order.
